Klinger’s current catalog is primarily built for ARK: Survival Ascended (ASA), while the one clearly identified ASE greenhouse port is marked incompatible and removed. The only other Klinger entry found for ASE is old enough that its current compatibility is unverified.
That means the right choice depends first on your game edition. Use Klinger’s Ascended packs only on ASA. For ASE, test Klinger Additional Optimized Structures cautiously, and do not install the removed Rustic Greenhouse Evolved port on a production server.

What “best Klinger mods” means in 2026
Klinger is a mod author associated with rustic building pieces, greenhouse-themed structures and optimized construction sets. Search results often mix ARK: Survival Evolved (ASE) and ARK: Survival Ascended (ASA), but the games use different mod ecosystems and structure systems. A mod listed for one edition is not automatically usable in the other.
#1 Best Overall
- Official ARK: Survival Evolved licensed merchandise, featuring the Dodo sculpted in textured iron
- Compact pin measuring about 1.6 in (4 cm) across and 0.5 in (1.2 cm) thick - light enough for caps, denim and tote bags
- Raised, textured surface gives the design real depth instead of a flat printed look
- Made in Japan - the pin back attaches securely and sits flat without dragging the fabric down
- A gift for ARK players, survival game fans, and dinosaur enthusiasts
As of October 14, 2026, Klinger’s CurseForge listings are under the Ark Survival Ascended path. The Ascended packs are therefore ASA content, not a general-purpose ARK server add-on. The available evidence does not establish a current, maintained collection of Klinger mods that can safely be called “best” for ASE servers.
- Running ASA: Klinger Additional Rustic Building and Klinger Additional Skin Cosmetics Rustic GreenHouse are the relevant Klinger choices, but they must be installed on ASA servers.
- Running ASE: Do not use the Ascended packs. Klinger Additional Rustic Greenhouse Evolved is marked incompatible and removed; Klinger Additional Optimized Structures is an older, unverified option that requires a test deployment.
- Running a public or persistent server: Treat compatibility, load order and player-client parity as release requirements, not optional checks.
Klinger mods by ARK edition
| Mod | Edition listed or intended | What it adds | Known status | Server decision |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Klinger Additional Rustic Building | ARK: Survival Ascended | Rustic building components; the Ascended Klinger catalog presents this as a building pack. | Listed under the Ark Survival Ascended path. No ASE compatibility is established. | Use only on ASA. |
| Klinger Additional Skin Cosmetics Rustic GreenHouse | ARK: Survival Ascended | Greenhouse-themed cosmetic content associated with the Rustic GreenHouse set. | Listed under the Ark Survival Ascended path. No ASE compatibility is established. | Use only on ASA. |
| Klinger Additional Rustic Greenhouse Evolved (Steam Workshop ID 3498900842) | Attempted ASE port | Rustic wooden foundations, including a soil-topped variant, walls, roofs and greenhouse doors reworked for ASE structure dimensions. | The listing carries an incompatible-with-ASE notice and shows the item as removed for violating Steam Community and Content Guidelines. The removal notice is visible only to the uploader. | Do not recommend or install for ASE. |

The Klinger packs that are safe to identify for ASA
Klinger Additional Rustic Building
This is the clearest Klinger building choice for ASA servers. It belongs to the Ascended catalog and is intended for players who want a rustic visual language rather than the default construction set. The important qualification is the platform path: a CurseForge listing under Ark Survival Ascended does not provide an ASE build.
On an ASA server, confirm that the mod page names the same game edition as your server and that the release supports the server’s current ASA version. Every player joining a modded ASA server should allow the client to download or enable the identical mod. A structure pack can be attractive for a private build project but still be unsuitable for a cross-platform or frequently updated public server if its assets lag behind the game version.
Klinger Additional Skin Cosmetics Rustic GreenHouse
This pack is also listed for ASA and focuses on greenhouse-themed cosmetics. “Skin” content is not a compatibility shortcut: an ASA cosmetic still depends on the ASA mod framework and cannot be assumed to work in ASE merely because the item resembles an older structure.
Use it when the server is already committed to ASA and the greenhouse look is more important than maintaining ASE support. If you are migrating a world from ASE, plan the cosmetic conversion separately; do not expect an ASA skin pack to preserve or convert existing ASE structures automatically.
Why ASA spawn-code references do not make a mod an ASE mod
Beacon lists spawn codes for Klinger Additional Rustic Building under the ArkSA path. That is useful for administrators who need to identify items or write ASA configuration, but the path itself is also the compatibility boundary. A spawn code, item blueprint or class name copied from an ASA reference cannot be treated as proof that the same asset exists in ASE.
Why the Rustic Greenhouse Evolved port should not be used
Klinger Additional Rustic Greenhouse Evolved (Workshop ID 3498900842) was described as a port of Klinger’s Ascended work. Its intended contents included rustic wooden foundations, a soil-topped foundation variant, walls, roofs and greenhouse doors adjusted to ASE structure dimensions. The creator’s description also indicated that additional Ascended content was still being studied for possible conversion.
Those design details do not overcome the listing’s current status. The Steam Workshop entry is marked incompatible with ARK: Survival Evolved and is shown as removed for a Steam Community and Content Guidelines violation. Because the item is removed and explicitly flagged as incompatible, it is not a dependable source for a live ASE server. Do not build a production save around it, distribute a downloaded copy to players, or tell players that a removed listing is a supported workaround.
A removed mod can also create practical support problems: new players may be unable to obtain the same files, an existing server may fail after a clean reinstall, and structures from the mod may become inaccessible if the server loses the mod data. For those reasons, this is not merely a “try it and see” recommendation.
What can be said about Klinger Additional Optimized Structures on ASE
Klinger Additional Optimized Structures (Workshop ID 2793077882) is the one older Klinger entry that merits a controlled compatibility test rather than an outright recommendation. Its stated focus is performance-oriented stone construction for large PvE cities and PvP bases. That positioning suggests a server owner may evaluate it when the practical problem is structure scale, not a rustic visual theme.
Its age is the decisive limitation. The available information does not verify that it loads on the current ASE branch, that its engrams and blueprints remain valid, or that clients can join without mismatched assets. A mod that worked on an earlier branch can stop working after an engine, map or server update even if its Workshop page remains visible.
Compatibility test procedure
- Make a separate copy of the server files and world save. Never use your only production save as the first test.
- Install the mod on a private test instance using its Workshop ID,
2793077882. - Start the server with no other new mods, then inspect the startup log for download failures, missing assets, blueprint errors or repeated load exceptions.
- Join with a clean client and verify that the client downloads the same mod and reaches the map without a timeout or version-mismatch message.
- Craft or spawn a representative sample of the stone pieces, place them in a large test build, relog, restart the server and confirm that the structures persist.
- Test demolition, replacement, tribe permissions, decay settings and map transfer behavior if those functions matter to your server.
- Only after the isolated test succeeds should you combine it with your existing mod list. Re-test after every major ASE update.
If any of those checks fail, treat the mod as unsupported for your branch. Do not solve a load failure by copying random blueprint paths from an ASA guide; the editions use different content.
Installing an ASE mod on a dedicated server
For a mod that is actually available and compatible with ASE, the server-side installation has three essential parts: the mod file, the active-mod list and a restart. The following procedure applies to the normal ASE dedicated-server layout.
Rank #2
- Official ARK: Survival Evolved licensed merchandise, featuring the Tyrannosaurus sculpted in textured iron
- Obtain the Workshop files. Subscribe or download the mod through the server’s supported Steam Workshop method. In the server’s
Modsfolder, confirm that there is a file named<workshop_id>.mod. For Klinger Additional Optimized Structures, that filename is expected to be2793077888.modonly if the downloaded Workshop ID is actually 2793077888; verify the ID carefully before renaming anything. The documented ID for the Klinger pack is2793077882, so the corresponding file should be2793077882.mod. - Edit the server configuration. Open
GameUserSettings.iniand locate or add theActiveMods=setting. Enter Workshop IDs as a comma-separated list, for exampleActiveMods=2793077882. If you have multiple confirmed ASE mods, use the documented order and separate IDs with commas, such asActiveMods=731604991,1404697612,2793077882. Do not add spaces or an ASA-only ID. - Restart the server. Stop it cleanly, save the configuration, then start it again. A live edit will not reliably load a new mod into an already running process.
- Check the log and client. Look for the mod to finish downloading and loading. Join from a client with the same mod available. If the server starts but the client cannot join, compare the client’s installed version and the server’s downloaded files before changing other settings.
The file and configuration steps do not make an incompatible mod compatible. They only tell ASE where to find a mod that was built for the edition and branch you are running.
Load-order and maintenance decisions
Keep the test list small
When evaluating an old Klinger pack, use a temporary server with only the game, map and one candidate mod. Adding several structure, storage or administration mods at once makes it difficult to identify which package caused a crash or blueprint conflict.

Record the exact version and date
Write down the ASE server build, map, mod IDs and the date of the test. “It worked last season” is not a current compatibility result. Re-run the test after an ASE branch change, a major server update or a mod author’s file replacement.
Plan for removal before building
Structure mods can leave assets in a save. Before enabling one for players, determine how you will remove or replace its foundations, walls, roofs and doors. Test a rollback on a copy so you know whether the world loads cleanly without the mod. This is especially important for abandoned or removed Workshop entries.

The server starts without the mod
- Confirm that the
.modfile is in the server’s actualModsdirectory, not only in a client cache. - Check that
ActiveMods=is inGameUserSettings.ini, not a similarly named local configuration file. - Verify every digit of the Workshop ID and restart after saving.
- Read the startup log for a failed download or a mod that was skipped because its files are incomplete.
Players receive a version or missing-mod error
- Have the player close the game and let Steam or the relevant mod service finish updating.
- Compare the server’s mod timestamp and ID with the client’s installed copy.
- Remove stale client files only after confirming that the server has a complete, current download.
- Do not ask players to install the removed Rustic Greenhouse Evolved port from an unofficial mirror.
Structures disappear after a restart
- Test the save with the same mod enabled and the same load order used when the structures were placed.
- Check for blueprint or asset errors in the server log.
- Restore the pre-test save if the mod was removed or replaced while mod-built structures still existed.
The mod loads but building pieces cannot be crafted
- Confirm that the mod’s engrams are enabled for the map and server settings.
- Check whether another structure mod changes the same crafting station, item or engram.
- Verify that you are testing the ASE edition of the mod rather than an ASA listing with similar names.
Older advice about the PreAquatica beta
A community Steam discussion from roughly a year before this guide reported that most mods did not work with the then-current main branch and suggested the PreAquatica beta as a workaround. That report is old and does not establish that the beta remains available, supported or appropriate in October 2026. Do not move a production server to a beta branch solely to make an unverified Klinger mod load.
If you investigate that route, treat it as a separate experiment: confirm the branch’s current availability, back up the save, tell players which server build to install and test the complete mod list before migration. A beta workaround is not the same as current main-branch compatibility.
ASE alternatives when Klinger support is not viable
If your priority is a stable ASE server rather than Klinger’s visual style, use a currently maintained ASE mod with a verified Workshop listing instead of forcing an incompatible Klinger port. A 2026 dedicated-server guide identifies the following ASE Workshop IDs as examples of commonly used utility or building choices:
| Mod | Workshop ID | Typical role |
|---|---|---|
| Structures Plus (S+) | 731604991 |
Expanded and configurable building systems. |
| Awesome SpyGlass! | 1404697612 |
Information and creature-inspection utility. |
| Awesome Teleporters! | 889745138 |
Teleportation infrastructure for server administration and players. |
| Dino Storage v2 | 1609138312 |
Creature storage and management. |
| Death Recovery Mod (v1.13) | 751991809 |
Recovery assistance after a player death. |
These are context options, not substitutes for Klinger’s rustic assets. Check each mod’s current page, branch support, dependencies and maintenance status before adding it. Combining a large building overhaul with another structure pack can create conflicts, so introduce one change at a time.
Choosing between ASA and ASE for a Klinger-focused server
Choose ASA when the Klinger catalog is the priority
ASA is the straightforward route if the server’s main goal is to use Klinger Additional Rustic Building or Klinger Additional Skin Cosmetics Rustic GreenHouse. The listings are organized under the ASA path, and the available spawn-code reference also uses ArkSA. Confirm the exact ASA server version and client requirements before opening the server to players.
Stay on ASE when the existing community or save is the priority
ASE may still be the correct choice when your players, map, server tooling or existing save depend on Evolved. In that case, avoid assuming that a visually similar ASA pack will work. Evaluate only an ASE-built release, such as the older Optimized Structures entry, in an isolated test and be prepared to reject it if the current branch does not load it reliably.

Do not make the edition decision from a mod name
Words such as “Evolved,” “Rustic,” “Greenhouse” or “Additional” are not compatibility metadata. Use the game path, Workshop or CurseForge edition label, current release notes and a clean server test. Similar names can describe different packages or an abandoned port.
A practical decision checklist
- Is the server running ASA or ASE?
- Does the listing explicitly identify that same edition?
- Is the item currently downloadable, rather than removed?
- Is there a current release or compatibility statement for your server branch?
- Can every player obtain the same files?
- Have you backed up the save and tested startup, joining, crafting, placement and restart persistence?
- Do you have a removal and rollback plan before players build with the mod?
If the answer to any of those questions is no, postpone a public rollout. For an ASE server specifically, the available evidence supports excluding the removed Rustic Greenhouse Evolved port and treating Optimized Structures as an experiment, not a proven best-in-class recommendation.
