The iQOO 16 is a China-launched performance flagship built around a 2K, 165Hz display, but the best alternative depends on what you value more: camera reach and long software support, or staying with iQOO and considering an earlier generation. The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and iQOO 15 are the clearest alternatives in the available specifications; neither has been established as a universal winner in independent head-to-head testing.
What the iQOO 16 offers
vivo announced the iQOO 16 in China on September 29, 2026, positioning it as a performance flagship and highlighting a jointly developed 2K, 165Hz Samsung Display panel. vivo’s announcement also identifies a Snapdragon 8-series processor. These details make it a natural point of comparison for buyers focused on gaming-oriented hardware, but the announcement does not establish availability outside China.

It reports China pricing of CNY 5,999–8,499; that is not an India price or a local-currency conversion. Read Android Central’s launch coverage.

These are published specifications, not results from a common independent comparison. The available sources do not establish relative gaming frame rates, sustained performance, camera quality, or battery endurance. A higher megapixel count, refresh rate, or battery capacity alone cannot settle those questions.

Choose the Galaxy S26 Ultra for camera flexibility and stated update support
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is the stronger fit on paper if you want distinct telephoto options and a clearly stated long upgrade commitment. TechRadar lists a 200MP main camera, 3x and 5x telephoto cameras, and seven years of upgrades, as well as a 6.9-inch 3120×1440 display and 5,000mAh battery. See TechRadar’s Galaxy S26 Ultra details.
That specification list supports a camera-versatility comparison, not a claim that its photos are better than the iQOO 16’s. The cited coverage does not provide a head-to-head camera test, nor does the stated upgrade term by itself establish how well the phone will perform throughout that period.

Those details make it a reasonable alternative to investigate if you want an iQOO device but do not need the iQOO 16’s stated 165Hz panel. The evidence does not establish that the iQOO 15 is cheaper, in stock, or better value in your market; compare current local prices and availability rather than assuming a previous-generation discount.

Which one should you buy?
- Choose the iQOO 16 if its China-market offer is available to you and your priority is the advertised 2K, 165Hz display and performance-focused positioning. Verify regional compatibility and support before importing or buying through a local seller.
- Consider the Galaxy S26 Ultra if camera reach and TechRadar’s stated seven-year upgrade period matter more to you than matching iQOO’s gaming-oriented specifications.
- Consider the iQOO 15 if you want to remain within the iQOO lineup and find a suitable local offer. The cited specifications do not prove a price advantage.
Before deciding, compare the exact regional versions on sustained gaming performance, camera results, battery life, charging, software support, total price, and local availability. The cited sources do not provide a single independent test or current like-for-like price comparison across these phones.

The iQOO 16 launch confirmed in the cited material is in China. An Economic Times preview updated September 17, 2026 said India launch timing and price were not confirmed at that time; because it predates the China launch, it cannot establish the phone’s current India status.
