Two Canadian App Store listings provide a useful starting point. Their stated features are not independent performance tests, so treat them as compatibility information and confirm the current listing details before installing or paying.

How to choose a player for your IPTV source
Start with the connection details supplied by the service or content source you intend to use. A player may accept a playlist file or URL, or a provider-specific login, but support for one method does not mean that every source will work.
- Match the format. Check whether the source provides M3U or XSPF playlist details, or an Xtream Codes API login, then confirm that the app lists that exact method.
- Check for an EPG. If you want a program guide, verify both that the app supports an electronic program guide (EPG) and that your source supplies compatible guide data. Perfect IPTV lists XMLTV EPG support; the cited IPTV Plus listing details do not state EPG support.
- Confirm device fit. Both listings describe iPhone and iPad support. Perfect IPTV also lists Apple TV; that does not mean IPTV Plus does.
- Review the current App Store page. App names, availability, features, in-app purchases, and privacy disclosures can change. Check the Canadian listing before downloading or buying.
Does an App Store listing mean the channels are authorized in Canada?
No. An IPTV player is an interface for loading and playing content; its availability in Apple’s store does not prove that a playlist or service has permission to distribute the channels it carries. Before using a source, verify that it has the rights to distribute the programming in Canada.

The CRTC explains that distribution rights can be limited by territory, which is one reason a service may geoblock content. It also says that, in Canada, streaming content online does not itself require a CRTC licence. Separately, CRTC registration applies to qualifying services operating in Canada, offering broadcasting content, and earning at least $10 million in annual broadcasting revenue, subject to exemptions. Canadian copyright guidance says using protected content in a way that violates rights under the Copyright Act—including communicating it to the public without authorization—may infringe copyright.
