Best Help Desk Software with Marketplace Integrations in 2026

Compare the marketplace integrations, documented workflows, channel coverage, and price details for Zendesk, Intercom, and Help Scout.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

There is no universally best help desk for marketplace integrations. Zendesk is the clearest fit when breadth across business systems matters; Intercom suits teams combining multichannel customer conversations with connected apps; and Help Scout offers a focused set of business-tool connections for teams centered on shared support conversations. The right choice depends less on a vendor’s app count than on whether the exact integration supports the actions your agents need, on a plan and budget that fit.

Help desk integration comparison

Platform Published integration breadth Documented examples and workflows Support model and pricing evidence
Zendesk More than 1,200 marketplace apps, according to Zendesk’s marketplace page accessed in 2026; the count is vendor-reported and undated. Examples include Slack, Jira, Shopify, Salesforce, and Workday. Zendesk says its Slack integration can create, view, and act on tickets; its Shopify integration displays customer and order details to agents. Official materials describe a marketplace for public integrations and private integrations built for one company. Some marketplace apps are free and some cost extra. The reviewed sources do not establish a comparable help-desk seat price.
Intercom 450+ apps and integrations, according to Intercom’s page accessed in 2026; the count is not directly comparable with other vendors’ counts. Examples include Salesforce and HubSpot; Jira, Linear, and Asana; and Shopify and Stripe. Intercom describes support across email, live chat, phone, SMS, WhatsApp, and social media. Intercom’s help desk pricing page accessed in 2026 displayed $29 per seat per month plus $0.99 per outcome. Treat this as a volatile vendor-published price, not a guaranteed quote.
Help Scout 100+ apps, according to its pricing and features page accessed in 2026. Examples include Salesforce, HubSpot, Aircall, Jira, and Linear, plus custom apps, API access, webhooks, and OAuth apps. Help Scout describes creating a Jira issue from a conversation and handling Aircall calls and texts alongside email and chat. Plan matrices can restrict features; the reviewed source does not establish a comparable seat price here. Check the relevant plan and add-on terms for each integration.

These counts describe each vendor’s own catalog and are not a like-for-like measure of quality. None establishes which marketplace has the best connectors or the deepest workflows.

How to choose a help desk with marketplace integrations

Start with the workflow, not the app count

Write down the systems agents use and the work they must complete without leaving the help desk. “Connects to Shopify,” for example, could mean showing order information in a customer record; it does not automatically mean agents can change orders or that data syncs both ways. Zendesk documents Shopify customer and order details for agents, and says its Slack integration can create, view, and act on support tickets. Confirm that the listed actions match your workflow.

Match the product to the support model

Teams handling mostly email and tickets may prioritize a different setup from teams managing in-product conversations, commerce questions, or internal IT requests. Intercom documents a shared support context spanning email, live chat, phone, SMS, WhatsApp, and social media. Check which channels and their associated workflows are included in the plan you are considering.

Account for setup, permissions, and ongoing administration

A directory listing does not explain who can install an app, what data it can access, or how it handles permissions. Zendesk distinguishes public integrations listed in its Marketplace from private integrations developed for an individual company. If your workflow needs a private connection, API work, or implementation assistance, include that work in the decision rather than counting only marketplace listings.

Calculate the cost of the complete setup

Compare agent-seat charges with usage-based fees, paid connectors, channel charges, add-ons, and implementation or administration work. Zendesk says many integrations are free, while some cost extra; paid listings state their costs, and Zendesk says they usually offer a free trial. Intercom’s displayed help desk price is per seat plus a per-outcome charge, so both components matter when estimating a typical workload. Plan and pricing details can change.

1. Zendesk: broad marketplace coverage across business systems

Zendesk is the strongest documented starting point in this comparison for teams that need connections across several kinds of business software. Its marketplace page advertises more than 1,200 available apps. Zendesk’s support documentation names integrations including Workday, Slack, Jira, Shopify, and Salesforce, spanning HR, collaboration, engineering, commerce, and CRM use cases.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What stands out

  • Zendesk describes Slack actions that let teams create, view, and act on support tickets.
  • Its Shopify integration displays customer and order details to agents.
  • The marketplace includes public integrations; Zendesk also documents private integrations developed for a single company.
  • Zendesk says many integrations are free. Some are paid, with costs shown on their listings; paid integrations usually offer a free trial, according to Zendesk.

Zendesk Support documentation states: “Public integrations are available on the Zendesk Marketplace for anyone to use.”

Price and limitations

The reviewed Zendesk sources do not provide a comparable help-desk seat price. Integration availability, prerequisites, price, and workflow behavior depend on the individual listing. A large catalog does not show whether a particular connector supports the permissions, synchronization, or actions your team needs.

Best fit

Consider Zendesk when agents need to work across a broad mix of systems and the relevant marketplace listings support their specific tasks. A private integration may be an option when the needed connection is company-specific, but it is distinct from installing a public marketplace app.

2. Intercom: app connections for multichannel customer support

Intercom is suited to teams that want to connect customer-support conversations with CRM, developer, ecommerce, billing, and customer-contact tools. Its integrations page states that it connects to 450+ apps and integrations, a vendor-published directory figure rather than a measure of integration depth.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What stands out

  • Named CRM connections include Salesforce and HubSpot; developer-tool examples include Jira, Linear, and Asana.
  • For ecommerce and billing, Intercom names Shopify and Stripe, and it also references APIs.
  • Intercom describes support across email, live chat, phone, SMS, WhatsApp, and social media.

Price and limitations

Intercom’s help desk pricing page accessed in 2026 displayed $29 per seat per month plus $0.99 per outcome. This is a volatile vendor-published price and should not be treated as a guaranteed or all-inclusive quote. The integrations count does not establish which apps are included in a given package or how deeply a connector supports a workflow.

Intercom published a 2026 help desk comparison whose public-price snapshot was checked on September 2, 2026. Its rankings are the vendor’s editorial assessment, not a neutral controlled comparison of marketplace quality.

Best fit

Intercom is a relevant option for teams whose support work spans multiple customer-facing channels and who need connections to tools such as a CRM, developer platform, ecommerce service, or billing system. Assess the outcome-based charge alongside seats when estimating cost.

3. Help Scout: focused integrations around shared support conversations

Help Scout documents access to 100+ apps on its pricing and features page. Its named examples include Salesforce, HubSpot, Aircall, Jira, and Linear; it also lists custom apps, API access, webhooks, and OAuth apps.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What stands out

  • Help Scout describes creating a Jira issue from a conversation.
  • Its Aircall example brings calls and texts alongside email and chat.
  • The combination of listed apps and developer options gives teams more than one route for connecting support work to other systems.

Price and limitations

The reviewed Help Scout page does not establish a comparable seat price here. Its plan matrices can restrict features, so integration access and functionality may depend on the selected plan or an add-on. The 100+ figure is Help Scout’s published app-access count, not proof that every connection covers a required workflow.

Best fit

Help Scout is worth considering for teams that organize service around shared conversations and want connections to CRM, calling, and developer tools. Its documented Jira and Aircall examples are especially relevant when agents need to turn conversations into engineering work or handle calls and texts alongside other support channels.

What the marketplace counts can—and cannot—tell you

The three published figures offer a rough indication of directory breadth, but they should not be read as a ranking. Zendesk reports more than 1,200 marketplace apps, Intercom reports 450+ apps and integrations, and Help Scout reports 100+ apps. The vendors’ counting methods and catalog scopes are not established as equivalent, and none of those numbers measures connector reliability, data access, sync behavior, or available actions.

An independent iTechGuides comparison says its price and plan details were checked on August 16, 2026. Its pricing snapshot, like Intercom’s September 2, 2026 snapshot, identifies a point in time rather than guaranteeing current terms. No neutral, comparable independent statistic in the reviewed sources establishes which platform has the best marketplace or highest integration quality.

A practical integration check before you commit

  1. Name the exact app and task. Specify whether agents need to view data, create records, update them, or take another action.
  2. Read the vendor’s listing and documentation. Confirm the connection’s supported actions, data fields, permissions, and any plan prerequisites; a listing alone does not establish those details.
  3. Check charges and availability. Identify whether the connector is free or paid, whether it needs an add-on, and whether usage or channel fees apply. For Zendesk, paid listings state their costs; Help Scout notes that plan matrices can restrict features.
  4. Map administration and ownership. Decide who can install and maintain the app. If a public listing does not cover the workflow, determine whether a private integration or API work is relevant.
  5. Estimate total cost against a representative workload. Include seats, usage-based fees, paid apps, add-ons, implementation, and ongoing administration—not just the advertised base price.
  6. Reconfirm current terms before purchase. Listings, compatibility, packaging, and prices change. Check the live product and integration pages for your region and intended plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which help desk has the most marketplace integrations?

Among the three compared here, Zendesk publishes the largest stated catalog figure: more than 1,200 marketplace apps. Intercom states 450+ apps and integrations, and Help Scout lists 100+ apps. Because the vendors’ catalog scopes and counting methods are not established as equivalent, these figures do not prove which product has the most useful integrations.

Does a large integration marketplace mean a connector will support my workflow?

No. A marketplace entry shows that a connection is listed, not necessarily that it supports the data, actions, permissions, or synchronization your team requires. Check the exact vendor documentation and listing for the workflow in question.

Can Zendesk marketplace integrations cost extra?

Yes. Zendesk says many integrations are free, but some cost extra; paid listings state their costs, and Zendesk says paid integrations usually offer a free trial.

What integrations does Help Scout document?

Help Scout names Salesforce, HubSpot, Aircall, Jira, and Linear, along with custom apps, API access, webhooks, and OAuth apps. It describes creating Jira issues from conversations and handling Aircall calls and texts alongside email and chat.
