Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteFor a Kannada video you will upload to YouTube and replay, start with HandBrake’s Web > Creator preset at the source’s actual resolution and frame rate. Keep the source frame rate, use Constant Quality unless you must hit a specific file size, and encode a short sample before processing the whole video. Kannada does not require a special codec or bitrate.
If by “loop stream” you mean sending a prerecorded file continuously as a live broadcast, HandBrake only prepares the video file; a separate live encoder or cloud streaming service sends it to YouTube. The live settings are different from upload-file settings.

First choose: upload a replay or broadcast a live loop?
These are two distinct workflows, and the settings should not be mixed:

- Upload and replay: HandBrake creates a video file for YouTube. Select an upload preset and encode for the source footage.
- Live loop: A live encoder or service plays the prerecorded file and sends a continuous feed to YouTube Live. Configure that sending encoder for YouTube’s live ingest requirements; HandBrake alone does not create or operate the stream.
The exact automation used to replay a file continuously depends on the live workflow you choose. The recommendations below cover the HandBrake file preparation and, separately, the live ingest settings.

HandBrake settings for a Kannada video upload
1. Choose a Creator preset that matches the source
In HandBrake, open the preset menu and choose Web > Creator, then select the nearest matching resolution and frame rate. HandBrake documents Creator 1080p60 and Creator 720p60; those presets produce MP4 with H.264 video and AAC stereo audio. Use a matching lower-resolution option for a lower-resolution source if available. Do not upscale footage just to choose a higher-resolution preset. See the HandBrake official presets.
2. Set video quality without chasing a universal RF number
For most uploads, choose Constant Quality rather than targeting a fixed bitrate. HandBrake’s current technical guide gives x264 starting points of about RF 20 ±1 for SD and RF 22 ±1 for HD. The guide is marked draft, and these are general starting recommendations—not a Kannada-specific optimum or a guarantee of a particular file size. Fine detail, motion, grain or noise all affect the result. Encode a representative short section and inspect it at normal viewing size before committing to a long encode. See HandBrake’s video quality guide.

3. Preserve the recorded frame rate
Set the frame-rate option to Same as Source. YouTube’s upload guidance says to encode and upload at the frame rate at which the material was recorded. HandBrake’s current frame-rate guidance explains that Same as Source can preserve variable timing; Peak Frame Rate (PFR) caps rates above the selected threshold, while Constant Frame Rate (CFR) converts the output to one fixed rate. Use CFR only for an actual compatibility or production requirement, not as a default quality improvement. The HandBrake frame-rate guidance is marked draft. If the original is interlaced, deinterlace it before upload. YouTube gives converting 1080i60 to 1080p30 as an example. For SDR material, YouTube recommends BT.709. Avoid changing color settings without a reason: the goal is to preserve the source’s intended appearance. See YouTube’s upload encoding settings.

- Add video effects such as watermarks, text overlay, filters, and video rotation
- Easily drag and drop video files or choose a whole folder
- Preview your video and any changes made to it before conversion
- Adjustable output settings
5. Keep the Kannada audio track and check it by listening
The Creator preset uses AAC stereo. YouTube’s upload guidance lists AAC-LC, Opus or Eclipsa Audio and a 48 kHz sample rate. There is no special audio codec or bitrate requirement for Kannada in the cited guidance. Check the encoded sample for clear speech or music, synchronized audio, and the correct audio track before processing the full video. See YouTube’s upload encoding settings, HandBrake audio codec guidance, and HandBrake’s Creator preset details.
6. Use upload bitrate recommendations only if you need a bitrate target
Constant Quality is usually the simpler choice. If you specifically need to set an upload bitrate, YouTube’s SDR upload table lists these recommendations:

| Resolution and frame-rate class | Recommended upload video bitrate |

| 1080p, standard frame rate | 8 Mbps |
| 1080p, high frame rate | 12 Mbps |
| 720p, standard frame rate | 5 Mbps |
| 720p, high frame rate | 7.5 Mbps |
These are upload recommendations, not mandatory targets for every creator and not direct-live settings. YouTube’s settings page notes that the stated features and settings apply to Content Manager partners, so treat the table as guidance rather than a universal requirement. Settings when the prerecorded file is sent as a live stream
Use a live encoder or streaming workflow to play the prepared file and send it to YouTube Live. YouTube’s current live guidance lists H.264, H.265 and AV1 video ingest, up to 60 fps, constant bitrate (CBR), and AAC or MP3 audio. It recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. For secure delivery, YouTube recommends RTMPS. Source: YouTube live encoder settings.

|---|---|---|
| 1080p30 | 5 Mbps | 14 Mbps |
| 1080p60 | 6 Mbps | 17 Mbps |

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Common setting mistakes and fixes
- The output looks worse than expected: Encode a short, representative section and inspect detail, motion and noise. Adjust Constant Quality based on that sample instead of assuming one RF value works for every source.
- The frame rate has changed unexpectedly: Check that Same as Source is selected. Use PFR only when you deliberately want a ceiling, or CFR when a specific compatibility need requires a fixed rate.
- Interlacing appears as comb-like lines: Deinterlace the source before upload; YouTube’s guidance gives 1080i60 to 1080p30 as an example.
- The live stream buffers or reports poor health: Check that the live encoder uses CBR and the correct YouTube ingest settings, including a two-second keyframe interval (never over four seconds). Verify sustained upload capacity, test before starting, and monitor stream health.
- A live-setting recipe is being applied to the HandBrake file: Keep the workflows separate. A normal upload encode uses file settings; CBR and live keyframe requirements belong to the encoder sending the live feed.
Copyright and YouTube policy checks for looped videos
Encoding settings do not grant permission to use the video or its music. Before uploading or looping a Kannada song, devotional recording, film clip or other material, confirm you have the necessary rights or permission for both the video and audio. Repeating a video does not remove copyright obligations. Also review YouTube’s applicable live-streaming and monetization policies for your channel and content; a technically correct encode does not guarantee a stream or video will be allowed or monetized.
