Clone Hero is a particularly straightforward starting point if you already have a compatible guitar. It supports local multiplayer for up to 32 players, and the project says its official setlist contains over 100 licensed songs. That figure describes YARG’s official setlist, not the total of all content a player might import.
YARG’s broader instrument lineup makes it a better match than a guitar-focused alternative when friends want different parts. Because it is community-developed and evolving, check its official site for current setup and content details. The project explicitly rejects piracy; use its official setlist and other legally distributed material rather than unauthorized copies.

Fortnite Festival: the current official option on PC and consoles
Fortnite Festival is a Harmonix-developed mode within Fortnite. GamesHub’s 2026 overview identifies Pro Lead and Pro Bass and reports support for some legacy Rock Band guitar controllers. It is the option to consider if you want a current official game mode rather than a standalone Guitar Hero-style community game.

GamesRadar+ reports testing the CRKD Gibson Les Paul Pro Edition with Clone Hero, Rock Band 4, Fortnite Festival, and older systems. In that reviewer’s tests, it worked with Clone Hero on PC, Rock Band 4 on PS4 and PS5, and Fortnite Festival on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S, as well as older PS3 titles. The report also notes that Fortnite Festival Pro mode on PS5 required enabling “Always Display Pro Parts.” These are review results for the tested product and configurations, not universal compatibility certification. Check the exact SKU and current connection requirements for your own setup.
Reduce missed inputs during setup
- Confirm that the game recognizes the guitar and that the receiver or adapter is connected in the required mode.
- Calibrate audio and video timing in the game before judging whether notes are registering accurately.
- For Fortnite Festival Pro mode on PS5, the GamesRadar+ review says its tested setup required “Always Display Pro Parts” to be enabled.
- If inputs still fail, check the instrument’s platform edition and connection requirements before assuming the game itself is at fault.
Should you wait for Stage Tour?
T3 reported a planned December 10, 2026 release for Stage Tour on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, and described a Kramer wireless guitar shown in a demo.
