For TinyBlkDog’s alpha Northstar plugin, begin at its default 75% Resolution, then adjust in the headset: raise it if the image looks soft and performance remains stable, or lower it if performance is poor. There is no documented universal preset for every PC, headset, or OpenXR runtime. CircuitLord’s separate full-conversion mod has its own settings, so do not apply TinyBlkDog’s controls or numbers to it.
First, identify which Titanfall 2 VR mod you have
“Titanfall 2 VR mod” can refer to two distinct projects. TinyBlkDog’s project is an alpha Northstar client plugin for the single-player campaign. Its project README describes a DLL and INI that hook the game’s DirectX 11 renderer and camera and drive them through an OpenXR session. The README says the mod does not modify game files or distribute game assets.

CircuitLord’s project is a separate full-conversion mod offered through CircuitLord’s installer. Its README describes stereo rendering, full-body IK, manual reloads, Titan controls, and a separate TF2VR profile. The current graphics and comfort values for that project are not established here; check its own current settings documentation instead of borrowing TinyBlkDog’s settings.
What resolution should I use in TinyBlkDog’s plugin?
Start with the plugin’s documented default: 75%. The creator says this is a conservative choice because the mod does not measure your GPU’s capability. In the in-headset panel, Resolution ranges from 50% to 200%; 100% represents the headset’s full panel resolution. These are mod settings, not a guarantee of a particular image quality or frame rate on every system.

- Open the mod’s in-headset settings panel and locate Resolution.
- If the image looks soft and performance is holding steady, raise the value in small increments.
- Close the panel to apply the change, then assess the image and performance again.
- Continue until performance stops holding steady, then step the value back once. If performance is already poor, lower the value instead.
This is iterative guidance from the project documentation, not a measured preset. The plugin alternates which eye is drawn per game frame, so each eye refreshes at half the headset’s frame rate, according to its README. Stable performance matters, but the project does not specify a universal target resolution or frame rate across GPU, headset, and runtime combinations.
How do I make Titanfall 2 VR more comfortable?
Choose a turning style you already tolerate
TinyBlkDog’s controls guide lists snap and smooth turning, a turn response curve, and separate deadzones for turning and the right stick’s vertical axis. Start with the turning style you already tolerate in VR. If it needs adjustment, change response and deadzones a little at a time so you can tell what each change does. The guide lists these options but does not identify one as best for everyone.

Adjust perceived scale only for visual comfort
The World scale control defaults to 1.00 and ranges from 0.50 to 2.00. The guide notes that the game can feel too large or look flat to some players; lowering world scale is its suggested adjustment when hands and weapons appear oversized. This is a subjective visual adjustment, not a performance control.
Use the other controls selectively
The controls guide also lists three crouch modes, haptics, an adjustable neck model, optional aiming steadiness, and ADS view-rotation controls. Treat these as personal tuning options rather than a prescribed comfort profile. The TinyBlkDog controls guide describes 72 settings across eight categories.

Be aware of the cutscene issue
The TinyBlkDog README identifies head-locked cutscenes as a potential motion-sickness trigger and suggests keeping your head still during them if they cause discomfort. This is a known issue specific to this project, not a general VR comfort rule.
Should you change Titanfall 2’s regular graphics settings?
Base-game graphics settings are separate from the VR plugin’s Resolution slider. NVIDIA’s Titanfall 2 PC graphics guide, published November 2, 2016, discusses flat-game settings and their tradeoffs, not VR performance. In its tests, NVIDIA reported a 9 FPS cost for Ambient Occlusion and a gain of a little over 1 FPS in most tested instances when disabling ADS Depth of Field. Those historical figures apply to the guide’s tested PCs and flat-game conditions; they are not VR benchmarks.

For the original PC game, NVIDIA recommends reducing Shadow, Effects, and Model detail, disabling Dynamic Spot Shadows, and considering disabling HBAO+ only after those changes when seeking more performance. Its discussion of Adaptive Resolution FPS Target describes dynamically lowering rendering resolution if frame rate misses a target, at an image-quality cost. Do not assume that feature is equivalent to the VR plugin’s Resolution setting or that it behaves safely in VR.
What the settings can—and cannot—tell you
The project materials reviewed document settings and a practical tuning approach, but they do not provide controlled comparisons across GPUs, headsets, OpenXR runtimes, or comfort outcomes. TinyBlkDog says its project was developed and tested on Meta Quest 3 and Play For Dream MR through Virtual Desktop’s VDXR runtime; other headsets and runtimes are untested, not stated to be blocked. Treat compatibility beyond those tested combinations as uncertain, and judge changes on your own setup.
