For a quick full-page screenshot without installing anything, use Firefox’s built-in screenshot tool: open the screenshot interface, choose Save full page, then download the image or copy it to the clipboard. If you use Chrome, Edge or Firefox and want capture plus editing, OpenCapture is a free extension option. The best fit depends on your browser, export format, editing needs and how the tool handles your captures.
What a full-page screenshot captures
A full-page screenshot includes the page beyond the portion currently visible in the browser window. A standard desktop screen capture usually records only what is on screen at that moment. Full-page capture is useful for archiving long articles, reviewing page layouts, documenting web content or sharing a complete page in one image or PDF.

1. ScreenshotNeo: a developer option for repeatable captures
For automated screenshots rather than a one-off manual capture, ScreenshotNeo provides a website screenshot API and an MCP server for AI agents. A single GET request can return an image or PDF. Full-page capture loads lazy images, and options include choosing an output format, setting a viewport, waiting for page conditions, and capturing an element by CSS selector. Its MCP tools are take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
ScreenshotNeo’s billing response identifies the page verdict and whether the request was billed: bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits are not billed. It can also accept and remove known consent banners, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture; each such step can be disabled. These controls are useful for developers who need repeatable, clean captures rather than a manual browser screenshot.
The free plan includes 1,000 shots per month without a card. Paid plans are Starter at $5 for 3,000, Growth at $15 for 15,000, Pro at $39 for 60,000, Scale at $99 for 250,000, and Business at $249 for 1,000,000; yearly billing gives two months free. All features are available on every plan. API details are in the ScreenshotNeo documentation.

2. Firefox’s built-in screenshot tool: easiest without an extension
Mozilla Support documents a direct full-page workflow in desktop Firefox: open the screenshot UI, select Save full page, then download the resulting image or copy it to the clipboard. Mozilla’s support page was last updated June 15, 2026. The exact controls can vary, so check your installed Firefox version if the option is not visible.
- Open the page you want to capture in Firefox.
- Open Firefox’s screenshot interface.
- Select Save full page.
- Choose whether to download the image or copy it to the clipboard.
3. Firefox DevTools: more capture controls
Firefox’s source documentation describes two DevTools routes: enable the Take a screenshot of the entire page toolbox button, or enter :screenshot --fullpage in the Web Console. The helper supports additional options, including delay, filename, clipboard output, device-pixel ratio and an element selector. Use this route when you want those controls and are comfortable opening Developer Tools; for a straightforward image, the regular screenshot interface is simpler.

OpenCapture’s product page describes a free extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox. It offers full-page, visible-area and selected-region capture, followed by crop, annotation and blur tools, with PNG or PDF export. The provider says processing happens locally and does not require an account. Its tiled logo or text watermarking feature is described as the paid exception: $5 for 1,000 credits, paid once rather than by subscription.
Those processing and account details are provider statements, not independent privacy testing. The linked project repository identifies the software license as AGPL-3.0-or-later. Check the relevant browser store for current availability before installing.

5. GoFullPage: check the current Chrome listing
The Chrome Web Store listing includes a version 8.9 changelog entry dated September 24, 2026, with fixes concerning Chromium 153’s URL requirement and dialogs. Earlier changelog entries mention scrolling, frames, export and capture fixes. This establishes recent maintenance, but not a complete current comparison of free features, limits or pricing. Check the live store listing for those terms before choosing it.
6. FullPage Capture: free captures, paid editing features
FullPage Capture’s provider page describes a Chrome and Edge extension for stitched, whole-page screenshots, with PNG, JPEG and PDF output, clipboard copying and editing tools. The provider says free captures are unlimited and have no watermark. It lists Pro at $19 per year after a seven-day trial and says saving an edited capture and other features require Pro. Its page also claims captures remain in browser-local storage and the extension makes no network requests. Treat pricing and privacy statements as the provider’s claims and recheck them before installing.

How to choose
- Want no installation? Start with Firefox’s built-in Save full page option if you use desktop Firefox.
- Need extra Firefox capture controls? Use the DevTools screenshot button or
:screenshot --fullpagehelper. - Want capture and editing across browsers? OpenCapture documents support for Chrome, Edge and Firefox, plus PNG/PDF export and editing.
- Need a Chrome extension? Compare current store listings and terms; a recent changelog alone does not confirm a tool’s current free limits.
- Need repeated or automated captures? A screenshot API can be easier to integrate into scripts or developer workflows than a browser extension.
- Care about privacy or data handling? Distinguish a provider’s description from independent verification, and review current permissions, store details and policies before use.

Common problems and fixes
- The page is cut off. Make sure you chose a full-page option rather than a visible-area capture. In Firefox DevTools, use the full-page button or the
--fullpagehelper. - The option is missing. Check that you are using desktop Firefox and consult the current Firefox help for your installed version. Extension features and store availability can change; verify the live listing for your browser.
- Images or page sections are missing. Some pages load content only as you scroll. For automated captures, use a tool that supports full-page capture with lazy images loaded, or wait for the relevant content before capturing.
- You need a file but copied the image. Use the download option in Firefox, or select an extension’s file export format rather than clipboard copy.
- An extension asks for payment for an editing feature. Check which actions are free before capture. For example, OpenCapture identifies tiled watermarking as paid; FullPage Capture says saving edited captures and other features require Pro.
