For a compact Mac setup, the Mac mini M6 has clearly documented support for two external displays. On Windows, the ASUS ExpertCenter PN65 mini PC and Lenovo ThinkCentre M70t Gen 6 tower are candidates, but confirm the ports and display limits on the exact configuration before buying. The right choice depends on your operating system, workload and the resolution and refresh rate you need from both screens.
Which desktop computers can run two monitors?
These models have relevant manufacturer specifications or product listings, but they are not ranked by a controlled comparison of dual-monitor performance. Treat the recommendations as starting points and verify the specific configuration you plan to buy.

| Desktop | Best suited to | What the display evidence says | Check before buying |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple Mac mini M6 | Compact macOS setup | Apple documents multiple two-display configurations, including one screen up to 8K at 60Hz, 5K at 120Hz or 4K at 240Hz, paired with a second screen up to 5K at 60Hz over Thunderbolt or 4K at 60Hz over HDMI. Apple’s technical specifications | Confirm that your two monitors, inputs, cables and intended resolution/refresh combination match a supported configuration. |
| ASUS ExpertCenter PN65 | Compact Windows mini PC | ASUS states support for up to four 4K displays at 60Hz. It specifies that 4K-or-higher video playback or streaming requires dual-channel memory. ASUS product page | Configurable ports depend on the confirmed SKU, and compatibility may vary above the stated resolution or refresh rates. Verify the actual port configuration and memory. |
| Lenovo ThinkCentre M70t Gen 6 | Windows tower with several outputs listed | Lenovo’s model-family listing describes triple-display capability using two DisplayPort outputs and one HDMI output. Lenovo product listing | Confirm the ports on the exact configured SKU; the listing says the monitor is sold separately. |
Which option fits your operating system and workload?
Choose the Mac mini M6 if you want a compact Mac
Apple’s documented two-display combinations make the Mac mini M6 the clearest compact macOS option in this shortlist. It is a sensible fit if your essential apps and peripherals work with macOS and the listed display modes match your monitors. The figures describe supported configurations, not a promise that every pair of displays can run at each screen’s individual maximum simultaneously.
Choose the ASUS PN65 as a Windows mini-PC candidate
The PN65 is a small Windows option with a high stated display count, but its headline capability comes with conditions: dual-channel memory is required for 4K-or-higher video playback or streaming, and the available configurable port depends on the SKU. Check the port layout for the exact unit rather than assuming every listing or configuration has the same outputs.

Consider the Lenovo M70t Gen 6 if you prefer a tower
Lenovo’s listing describes three display outputs, which may suit a desk where a tower is acceptable or where a third display could be useful. Since this is a model-family listing, confirm the exact SKU’s outputs and monitor compatibility before ordering.
Use broader business-PC picks as context, not dual-monitor proof
TechRadar’s business-computer guide, updated 1 June 2026, names the Dell Tower Plus (EBT2250) as its overall business pick and GMKtec NucBox M5 Plus as its budget pick. It lists Dell configurations up to Intel Core Ultra 9 285K, Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080, 64GB DDR5 and 4TB SSD. For the NucBox M5 Plus, it lists an AMD Ryzen 7 5825U, integrated graphics, up to 32GB DDR4 and up to 1TB SSD, and describes it as suitable for general business tasks and light photo editing rather than graphics-intensive video editing or gaming. These are general business recommendations, not evidence of a specific dual-monitor comparison; check current configured display outputs before considering either for your setup. TechRadar’s guide

How to check whether a desktop supports your two monitors
- Confirm the operating system and apps. Make sure your work software and required peripherals are compatible with macOS or Windows, whichever you choose.
- Match the computer to the workload. Office work, browsing and light editing generally call for less graphics capacity than demanding games, 3D work or intensive video editing. Do not treat a basic-business recommendation as proof it will meet a demanding graphics workload.
- Verify simultaneous display support. Count displays the computer can run at the same time, not merely the number of visible ports. Check which combinations of outputs can be active together in the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Check both screens’ resolution and refresh rate. Find the supported combination for two monitors. A maximum listed for one screen does not necessarily apply to both screens at once.
- Match ports and cables. Compare the computer’s HDMI, DisplayPort or USB-C outputs with each monitor’s inputs. If you need an adapter or dock, verify that it supports the resolution and refresh rate you intend to use. A generic splitter should not be assumed to provide two independent displays.
- Confirm the exact configuration and what is included. Check the SKU, memory configuration and optional ports, and whether monitors and cables are included. Lenovo’s listing explicitly says the monitor is sold separately.
- Weigh desk space against expansion. A mini PC saves space; a tower may better suit someone prioritizing expansion or a higher-demand workload. Form factor alone does not guarantee performance.
Do you need a docking station for two monitors?
Not necessarily. The reviewed specifications do not establish a dock as a requirement for these models. If the desktop has enough compatible outputs and can drive both monitors at their intended settings, direct connections may be sufficient. A dock or adapter is relevant when you need a different connection arrangement; confirm that it supports the required video mode and that the computer can run both displays through that setup. Do not confuse a splitter that duplicates one image with a connection that supports two independent screens.
Can these desktops support two 4K monitors?
The available specifications support a qualified answer. ASUS states that the PN65 can support up to four 4K displays at 60Hz, with dual-channel memory required for 4K-or-higher playback or streaming; its configurable port and compatibility depend on the exact configuration and monitor mode. Apple documents two-display combinations for the Mac mini M6, but the maximum resolution and refresh rate differ by display and connection. Lenovo’s cited listing describes triple-display capability but does not establish a two-4K resolution-and-refresh combination. For any of them, verify the exact simultaneous modes, ports and SKU against your monitors before purchase.
