For a scheduled pre-recorded broadcast, Restream and StreamYard both document workflows that automatically play an uploaded video to YouTube Live. For continuous 24/7 playback, StreamNeo is the first option to consider: it loops uploaded videos from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day. YouTube also identifies Gyre as a cloud option for 24/7 prerecorded streaming and AJA HELO Plus as a scheduled-playback hardware alternative.
These services send an encoder-like live stream to YouTube; they are not the same as uploading a regular video. The right choice depends on whether you need a one-time scheduled event, a continuing loop, studio controls, or dedicated hardware.

Which service fits your YouTube Live workflow?
| Option | Best-supported use | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Continuous 24/7 looping of uploaded videos to YouTube from the cloud. | One always-on stream per slot, playlists, pooled storage, and output at the quality uploaded up to 4K 60fps. The first day is free with no card. See StreamNeo. |
| Restream | Schedule uploaded prerecorded video, or use software encoders with YouTube and other destinations. | File format and encoding compliance, current plan limits, scheduling and looping behavior, and whether you need multistreaming. Restream says it supports major streaming software including OBS, Streamlabs, and vMix. |
| StreamYard | Schedule a prerecorded broadcast to start and end automatically. | Upload size and bitrate, resolution, destinations, and whether you need production controls. Its automated prerecorded output does not provide the same control of live overlays, assets, and on-stream comments as its normal studio workflow. |
| Gyre | Continuous or 24/7 prerecorded YouTube output. | Confirm current scheduling, looping, input, resolution, plan, and support limits directly; those details are not established here. YouTube names Gyre in its encoder guide. |
| Tencent Cloud StreamLive | Infrastructure-oriented cloud delivery lead. | Its manual describes YouTube as a destination and H.264/H.265 output, but does not establish an automated prerecorded playout workflow. |
| AJA HELO Plus | Scheduled prerecorded playback using dedicated hardware rather than a cloud service. | YouTube describes its PlayToStream feature as scheduling prerecorded media for YouTube Live without a computer. |
Current subscription prices for the other services were not established, so this comparison does not rank them by price. Compare current plans directly before committing.

Choose by broadcast pattern and production needs
For a single scheduled broadcast
Restream and StreamYard both describe automatic scheduled playback of uploaded video. Restream is worth considering when you also want to use supported desktop encoders or reach other destinations. StreamYard is a browser-oriented option when a straightforward start-and-end schedule matters; check its plan-specific upload caps before preparing a large file.
#1 Best Overall
- 【1080P HD High Quality】Capture resolution up to 1080p for video source and it is ideal for all HDMI devices such as PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, DVDs, DSLR, Camera, Security Camera and set top box. For a continuous loop
StreamNeo is the first option to consider for 24/7 YouTube playback: upload a recording or create a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It keeps the stream running from the cloud, without a home computer or OBS needing to stay on. It can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. YouTube’s encoder guide also names Gyre for cloud 24/7 prerecorded output, but verify its current limits and workflow with the provider.
For an appliance instead of a cloud service
AJA HELO Plus is a hardware route, not a cloud subscription. YouTube identifies PlayToStream as a way to schedule prerecorded media for YouTube Live without a computer. Consider it only if dedicated equipment is a better fit than provider-hosted playback.

For infrastructure-level delivery
Tencent Cloud StreamLive is a technical lead rather than a confirmed creator-oriented prerecorded scheduler: the available manual details YouTube as a destination and H.264/H.265 output, but not automated file playout. Establish that workflow and its operating requirements before treating it as a substitute for a scheduled-video service.
Prepare the video for Restream or StreamYard
Restream file and encoding requirements
- Use MP4, MOV, M4V, or MKV.
- Encode video as H.264 and audio as AAC.
- Set the keyframe interval to 2.
- Restream recommends Full HD 1080p, 30 or 60 fps, and constant bitrate (CBR) where practical. Its guidance says bitrate depends on destination platforms; these are Restream requirements and recommendations, not universal YouTube requirements.
- Add 15–20 seconds of padding at the beginning and end. Restream recommends this to reduce the chance that destination processing cuts into important content.
StreamYard upload limits
- Its automated prerecorded flow accepts MP4 with H.264 and uploads up to 10 Mbps.
- Paid plans stream these broadcasts at up to 1080p.
- The stated maximum file size is 10 GB on Core and Advanced, and 25 GB on Teams and Business. These limits are plan-specific; confirm the current plan matrix before preparing or uploading a file.
Resolution, codecs, and quality decisions
Match the source file to the service’s accepted formats and the output quality you actually need. A higher-resolution source can mean a larger upload and longer preparation time; it does not remove a provider’s upload or output ceiling. Restream’s 1080p/30-or-60-fps guidance and StreamYard’s paid-plan ceiling are service-specific published details, not a statement that every YouTube Live stream must use those settings.

Enable YouTube Live before scheduling
- Enable live streaming on the channel. YouTube says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours. Restream’s YouTube guidance describes phone verification followed by a 24-hour wait for the first stream. Do this ahead of the event rather than close to its scheduled start.
- Use the provider’s YouTube connection or stream-key workflow. Follow the service’s current setup screen to connect the channel or enter its stream key. Treat the key as a credential: do not publish it, share it, or place it in an exposed document.
- Schedule a test with a noncritical video. Confirm that the broadcast appears as a live stream in the intended YouTube channel, that audio and video are present, and that the scheduled start and end behave as expected.
- Check the archive requirement separately. Restream says YouTube has no stream duration limit, but that YouTube archives streams only when they are under 12 hours. If you need a retained archive, plan the broadcast length around that distinction and verify current YouTube behavior.
Copyright, rights, and channel suitability
A prerecorded file still goes out as a live broadcast, but that does not make copyrighted material yours to use. Before scheduling, make sure you have the rights or licenses needed for every component—music, video clips, images, and other third-party material—and review YouTube’s current live-stream and channel policies. A technically accepted upload is not proof that you have permission to broadcast it. For a practical preflight, use the copyright safety checklist.
Also distinguish a live broadcast from a regular upload when planning your channel. This article’s services address sending prerecorded material through a live-stream workflow; they do not determine whether a channel’s content meets YouTube’s monetization or reused-content rules. Review YouTube’s current policies for your specific material and channel rather than assuming that scheduling software changes the policy outcome.

Estimate upload time and operating costs
Large files take time to upload, and the time depends on file size and your actual upstream connection. Use the upload-time calculator to estimate the transfer, then leave margin for a slow or interrupted connection. Compare the ongoing cost of a cloud service with any computer, network, or hardware you would otherwise need using the cloud vs PC cost calculator. Prices and plan limits for Restream, StreamYard, Gyre, and other providers should be checked on their current pricing pages; a verified comparison is not available here.

Troubleshoot common scheduling problems
- The first broadcast does not start: live streaming may not yet be enabled on the YouTube channel. Enable it and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
- The provider rejects the upload: check the service’s supported container, video and audio codecs, bitrate, and file-size cap. For Restream, use a listed container with H.264 video, AAC audio, and keyframe interval 2; for StreamYard, check MP4/H.264, its stated 10 Mbps upload limit, and the file-size limit for your plan.
- The opening or ending is clipped: Restream recommends 15–20 seconds of additional padding at both ends to account for destination processing.
- The video is live but the archive is missing: Restream says YouTube archives streams only when they are under 12 hours. Live duration and archive eligibility are separate considerations.
- The scheduled output lacks live studio controls: StreamYard’s automated prerecorded flow does not have the same live overlay, asset, and comment controls as a normal studio production. Choose a workflow that supports the controls you need, or use a live production setup.
- A 24/7 stream stops after a YouTube interruption: check whether the chosen service supports automatic recovery and how it resumes. StreamNeo includes automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream; verify recovery behavior for other providers directly.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload your video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; the stream runs from the cloud. Your video streams at the quality uploaded up to 4K 60fps for one price per slot, YouTube drops are handled with automatic recovery, and the first day is free with no card.
