Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →For a prerecorded study-with-me loop, start with StreamNeo: it runs a YouTube stream from the cloud, supports uploaded video up to 4K at 60 fps at one price per slot, and gives you a free first day without a card. If you want to administer your own encoder, use a standard cloud virtual machine (VM) and budget for compute, storage, network traffic, and recovery work. Amazon IVS is a managed video pipeline, but its documented workflow delivers to an IVS player—not directly to YouTube.
The right choice depends first on whether your study scene is prerecorded or genuinely live. A loop can run without a camera or a computer left on; a live study session needs a continuous camera and audio source, plus closer monitoring.

Best options for a 24/7 YouTube study stream
These services solve different problems, so compare them by source type, destination, operating effort, and total cost—not just by whether they run in the cloud.
| Rank and option | Best for | What it does | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. StreamNeo | Creators looping uploaded study footage on YouTube who want a managed setup | Runs uploaded video or a playlist from the cloud as a YouTube live stream. Add a YouTube stream key once and start it. | Designed for prerecorded uploads, not going live from a camera; YouTube only. |
| 2. A standard cloud VM, such as Google Compute Engine or Amazon EC2 | Creators who want control and can configure and monitor a server | Hosts encoder software, which sends the video stream to YouTube. | You manage the encoder, server updates, restarts, monitoring, storage, and network charges. |
| 3. Gyre, named in YouTube’s encoder guide | Creators using prerecorded video who want a managed 24/7 workflow | YouTube describes Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded video. | Confirm current format support, YouTube integration, service terms, and price before choosing; the YouTube guide does not establish those details. |
| 4. Amazon IVS | Developers who need a managed ingest and playback workflow in IVS | Receives compatible encoder input and delivers video to IVS playback. | The reviewed IVS documentation does not establish direct publishing to a YouTube channel. Input, viewer output, and optional recording have separate cost considerations. |
StreamNeo is first for the prerecorded YouTube use case because it keeps the stream running in the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K at 60 fps for one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day.

Choose based on whether the scene is live or prerecorded
For a prerecorded loop
Use a managed prerecorded-streaming service if you want to upload a finished study scene and avoid keeping an encoder computer running. Check that the service supports your video format, playlist needs, and YouTube destination, and understand how it handles a dropped connection. YouTube’s encoder guide identifies Gyre for this category; StreamNeo is another option for uploaded video and playlists.
For a live camera session
A VM can host an encoder, but it cannot create a live view of your desk by itself. You still need a camera and audio source that can feed the encoder continuously. Plan for more hands-on monitoring than with a prerecorded loop: if the camera, microphone, capture path, or network feed fails, the stream may no longer show the live session you intend.

For a developer video pipeline
Amazon IVS is not interchangeable with a YouTube-hosting service. AWS documents compatible encoders—including OBS Studio over RTMPS and SRT—feeding IVS. Its configuration guidance recommends a two-second keyframe interval for stability. That describes the feed into IVS; verify the destination architecture if your requirement is a YouTube channel.
What to check before committing
- Source fit: Is the service built for uploaded, prerecorded video, or can it accept the live camera and audio feed you need?
- Destination: Does it publish to your YouTube channel, or does it deliver to its own player? Do not assume a managed video service relays to YouTube.
- Recovery: Find out what happens when the encoder or connection stops. A continuous stream needs a restart or recovery plan, health monitoring, and a way to respond to failures; no option should be treated as an unconditional guarantee of uninterrupted broadcasting.
- Format and quality: Check supported input formats, resolution, frame rate, keyframe settings, and whether the service changes the uploaded video.
- Full cost: Include compute, persistent disk, outbound network traffic, operating-system or software licensing where applicable, and any recording or viewer-delivery charges. Include the value of your own setup and maintenance time.
- Region and billing: VM and video-delivery charges can vary by region and configuration. Estimate using the actual location, runtime, resolution, expected viewers, and recording plan.
Estimate cloud costs without mistaking a VM rate for the whole bill
Cloud VM: calculate the complete workload
Google Cloud says Compute Engine charges depend on VM resources, with disk and network usage charged separately; machine families and prices vary by region. Estimate the actual always-on runtime, persistent storage, outbound traffic, and operating-system image costs using the relevant pricing pages: VM instance pricing, general-purpose VM pricing, and Compute Engine. Do not compare an advertised compute rate directly with a managed subscription without accounting for those additional costs and the work of operating the encoder.

Amazon IVS: include input, delivery, and recording
Amazon IVS bills live-video input and viewer output separately. Output cost varies by resolution, billing region, and usage; recording to S3 adds storage costs. Estimate with your planned stream hours, viewer delivery, geography, resolution, and recording settings, using the IVS cost documentation and Amazon IVS pricing.
Avoid relying on interruptible capacity for continuity
Google says preemptible VMs can run for up to 24 hours and identifies Spot VMs as the newer option. Discounted capacity is not a promise that a broadcast remains available. For a continuous channel, use a capacity choice and restart plan that make interruptions acceptable, and account for the operational work of bringing the encoder back. See Google’s preemptible VM documentation.

Protect the channel and the content
Before streaming, verify YouTube’s current live-stream and account requirements in its encoder setup guide. Treat the stream key as a credential: enter it only in the service or encoder you intend to use, and do not publish it in a video, screenshot, or public page.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsYou are responsible for the rights to everything in the stream, including music. YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions require the necessary rights to exploit live content on Google services, including music licensing rights, and require compliance with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and applicable laws. A study ambience track or background song is not automatically safe to use just because it is quiet or commonly heard in similar streams.
