In the U.S., Best Buy’s published return policy gives most gaming PCs, monitors, and computer components 15 days from receipt to return, or 60 days for eligible My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total members. Those extended membership periods do not apply to Marketplace purchases. The item generally needs to be like-new and returned with its accessories and packaging; check the seller and any item-specific terms on your order.
How long do you have to return a gaming PC, monitor, or component?
Best Buy’s policy does not list ordinary gaming PCs, monitors, or computer components as exceptions to its general return window. Under the policy page effective February 23, 2026, most products can be returned within 15 days of receipt. Eligible My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total members get 60 days, but the extension excludes Marketplace Products. See Best Buy’s Return & Exchange Policy for current terms.

The 14-day period applies to activatable devices, such as cellular phones and devices; it is not the standard classification for a gaming PC or monitor. The policy also applies its timeframes to new, clearance, open-box, refurbished, and pre-owned items.
Check who sold the item
Look at the seller on your order before relying on the return window or choosing a return route. Marketplace Products generally follow the standard policy unless their listing or order states otherwise, but Plus and Total membership extensions do not apply to Marketplace purchases. Marketplace returns may be handled in-store for many products or shipped to the Marketplace Seller through the return flow in your Best Buy account; size and product limits apply to in-store returns.

Condition, packaging, and item-specific restrictions
Best Buy requires returned items to be in like-new condition. It may deny a return for damage, scratches, dents, unsanitary condition, or missing major contents. Include the PC or component’s accessories and packaging: missing items may lead to denial or a nonrefundable deduction.
The current policy does not name ordinary gaming PCs, monitors, or components as categories subject to a restocking fee. However, special-order products and item-specific restrictions can change what applies. The policy lists a 15% restocking fee for certain categories, including projectors and special-order products; unopened products and certain purchases in listed states are exempt. Check the policy and your order for the exact item rather than assuming every computer-related purchase is treated alike.

Some items are nonreturnable, including products marked final sale and other specifically listed categories. Certain opened consumables and Marketplace Seller entertainment products are also nonreturnable. Fully regulated hazardous materials cannot be returned through Best Buy channels, and a rechargeable-battery product must include its original battery to qualify. These restrictions matter if a component or special-order item has its own terms.

How to return it and when to expect a refund
Eligible Best Buy purchases can generally be returned at a store or mailed using a prepaid return label. Most online purchases shipped from and sold by Best Buy can be returned to a Best Buy store. For eligible mailed returns, Best Buy says processing takes 7–10 business days after receipt; your bank may need up to 10 additional days after processing to show the credit. Refunds generally go to the original payment method, with stated exceptions: some large cash or check/debit payments are refunded by check, while Best Buy Gift Card funds are returned as a new gift card or e-gift card.

Best Buy’s published holiday FAQ covered purchases made October 31 through December 31, 2025, with returns allowed through January 15, 2026, subject to exclusions. That window has expired. Best Buy has not established a 2026 holiday return window in the cited Holiday Frequently Asked Questions, so check for a current announcement rather than assuming the past extension applies.
