Best Buy will match certain current prices from qualifying online and local competitors when the product is identical, new, immediately available, and sold by an eligible seller. For an online purchase, request the match through Best Buy chat or call 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289); for an in-store purchase, ask a Customer Specialist or the Customer Service desk. The U.S. policy was effective September 2, 2026, when checked; see Best Buy’s current Price Match Guarantee before making a request.
What has to qualify for a Best Buy price match?
Check the product, seller, availability, offer, and timing before contacting Best Buy. A lower number alone is not enough: the company reviews the request and verifies the competing price and availability.

- Exact same product: The brand, model number, and color must match. A similar model or a different color does not qualify.
- New and immediately available: The item must be available now for shipping or store pickup from the competitor, and Best Buy’s item must also be immediately available.
- Eligible seller: Best Buy’s guarantee applies to new items sold by Best Buy, not Best Buy Marketplace products. Competitor Marketplace Seller listings are also excluded.
- Current public price: The comparison is to a current pre-tax price available to all customers, not a price restricted to a membership or loyalty program.
- Eligible offer and timing: The price and product must not fall under one of the policy’s exclusions. Best Buy allows one match at the time of purchase per identical item per customer.
Best Buy’s Qualified Competitors page is the place to check which retailers currently qualify. The roster can change, so do not rely on an old list.

Best Buy’s exclusions include many deal types and product conditions. Examples in its policy include:

- Third-party marketplace listings, as well as clearance, refurbished, open-box, and pre-owned products.
- Out-of-stock or limited-quantity offers, membership-only or loyalty prices, coupons, and mail-in offers.
- Financing offers, bundles, gift-card promotions, free items, pricing errors, and preorders.
- Liquidation, trade-in, rent-to-own, service prices, and special daily or hourly sales.
- Competitor prices from the Thursday before Thanksgiving through the Monday after Thanksgiving.
Best Buy says it may amend the policy and may test it in select locations, so consult the live terms. Online comparisons are based on the pre-tax item price; shipping and delivery charges are not included.
Does Best Buy price match Amazon?
Check Amazon’s listing against Best Buy’s current Qualified Competitors page and inspect who is selling the item. Best Buy excludes third-party Marketplace Seller listings, so a product offered by an outside seller is not eligible under the published policy. Do not assume a particular Amazon offer qualifies without confirming the seller, exact brand and model, color, availability, and offer type.

How to request a price match
For BestBuy.com, app, and online orders
- Contact Best Buy through online chat or by phone at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289) while purchasing or during the return and exchange period.
- Show the current competitor advertisement or webpage with the lower price so Best Buy can review and verify it. Online chat requests must be made by the purchaser. For a shipped order after purchase, the requester must be the purchaser named in the order’s “Bill To” section.
- For an order already received or picked up, check the order’s details: Best Buy says price-match availability can be checked in Order Details by selecting “See details.”
An online order cannot be price matched in a store or by email. App purchases and BestBuy.com orders with store pickup count as BestBuy.com purchases for policy purposes.

- Show the current competitor advertisement or webpage. Best Buy will review and verify the price and availability.
What if Best Buy lowers its own price?
If Best Buy lowers its in-store, online, or app price during the return and exchange period, its policy says it will match that lower price upon request. For an item scheduled for delivery, Best Buy’s FAQ says to call before delivery to ask about the lower Best Buy price.

Best Buy price-match checklist
- Confirm the exact brand, model number, and color.
- Confirm the item is new, immediately available, and sold by Best Buy and an eligible competitor—not a marketplace seller.
- Check that the offer is current, public, and not an excluded promotion or sale type.
- Check the current Qualified Competitors list and have the live competitor ad or webpage ready.
- Use the channel for the purchase type: chat or phone for online orders, or a Customer Specialist or Customer Service desk for in-store purchases.
- If requesting a match after purchase, make the request within the return and exchange period.
