For documented ProRes RAW editing, the strongest options are Final Cut Pro for Mac or iPad and DaVinci Resolve 20.2. Neither should be mistaken for an iPhone-native editor: Apple documents RAW-specific controls in Final Cut Pro, while Blackmagic announced support in Resolve 20.2. Final Cut Camera records ProRes RAW on supported iPhones, but it is a capture app, not an editing recommendation.
Which apps support iPhone ProRes RAW?
ProRes RAW is not the same as ordinary Apple ProRes. Apple describes ProRes RAW as ProRes compression applied to RAW image data from the camera sensor. An app that edits standard ProRes does not automatically support ProRes RAW; Apple says software must support the specific format.
| App or workflow | Platform | What is documented |
|---|---|---|
| Final Cut Pro | Mac and iPad | Apple announced ProRes RAW support and direct RAW adjustments in Final Cut Pro 11.2 and Final Cut Pro for iPad 2.3, including exposure, color temperature, tint, and demosaicing. These version numbers identify the announcement, not a guarantee about the latest release. |
| DaVinci Resolve | Platform availability and device-specific behavior not stated in the cited announcement | Blackmagic announced ProRes RAW format support, including iPhone 17 Pro footage, in DaVinci Resolve 20.2. Confirm current version and platform support with Blackmagic before choosing a workflow. |
| Final Cut Camera | iPhone | Captures ProRes RAW on supported iPhones; it is not identified as an editor in Apple’s documentation. |
| Other editing apps | Varies | ProRes RAW support for the exact app and platform is not established here. Check the vendor’s current format documentation rather than relying on ordinary ProRes support. |
Apple’s 2025 announcement names Final Cut Pro 11.2 and Final Cut Pro for iPad 2.3 as adding direct adjustments to iPhone ProRes RAW footage. For readers who need those controls specifically, that makes Final Cut the clearest Apple-documented choice. Blackmagic’s announcement makes Resolve another documented option, but does not establish detailed device behavior or tier availability.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Can you edit ProRes RAW on iPhone?
The documented editing recommendations above are for Mac or iPad (Final Cut Pro) and DaVinci Resolve, whose announcement does not specify platform-level iPhone editing details. The cited Apple materials identify Final Cut Camera as the iPhone recording app, not as an editor. Do not assume that an iPhone app can edit the format merely because it records or handles ordinary ProRes.
Final Cut Camera’s role is to capture footage for an editing workflow. Apple’s current recording guide says ProRes RAW capture requires iPhone 17 Pro or later and external storage. That is a capture requirement, not a requirement that defines which editing apps support the resulting files.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
What controls and delivery options matter?
RAW adjustments
Apple lists direct controls for exposure, color temperature, tint, and demosaicing in the named Final Cut Pro releases. These controls are useful when adjusting the image from RAW data; their presence should not be inferred for every other editor.
HDR and SDR output
ProRes RAW footage can be used for HDR or SDR delivery. Apple explains that SDR output requires mapping the source’s high dynamic range to the narrower range of an SDR display: “This process is called tone mapping.” The quote is from Apple’s technical documentation, dated May 2023. Plan the project’s color management around the intended display and delivery format rather than treating RAW capture as an HDR export setting.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What you need to record iPhone ProRes RAW
Apple’s Final Cut Camera guide specifies iPhone 17 Pro or later and connected external storage for ProRes RAW capture. The guide also calls for a suitable USB-C connection, exFAT-formatted storage, and cable speeds that meet the selected recording mode’s requirements. Check Apple’s instructions for the exact device and mode before buying or connecting storage; general support for recording ordinary ProRes does not establish RAW capture support.
