The strongest reported Apple discounts this week are on the new M6 Mac mini and M5 Max Mac Studio, but the listings are time-sensitive and some may be limited to particular stores. Apple’s U.S. starting prices are $899 for the M6 Mac mini and $2,499 for the M5 Max Mac Studio; retailer listings reported as low as $699.99 and $1,999.99, respectively, need direct verification before you buy.
What are the best Apple deals this week?
These are reported U.S. prices, not a guarantee that a listing is still available on October 3, 2026. Check the retailer’s live page for the exact configuration, seller, stock, and any local-store restriction before checkout.

| Product and configuration | Reported price | Comparison | Retailer and qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| M6 Mac mini, 16GB unified memory, 256GB SSD | $699.99 | Slickdeals showed $200 below its displayed $899.99 comparison price. | Micro Center listing displayed by Slickdeals on October 3; verify the specific store and current price. |
| M6 Mac mini, 16GB unified memory, 512GB SSD | $1,069 | MacRumors described this as $30 off. | MacRumors’ September 25 weekly roundup; dated observation, not confirmed live pricing. |
| M5 Max Mac Studio, 36GB unified memory, 512GB SSD | $1,999.99 | Slickdeals showed $500 below its displayed $2,499.99 comparison price. | Select-store listing displayed by Slickdeals on October 3; confirm local eligibility and stock. |
| M5 Max Mac Studio, 36GB unified memory, 512GB SSD | $2,449 | MacRumors described this as $50 off. | MacRumors’ September 25 weekly roundup; dated observation, not confirmed live pricing. |
The listings differ considerably, especially for the Mac Studio. The lower Slickdeals prices are community deal listings, not a universal offer; treat them as leads and confirm the exact product and checkout total with the seller. A lower price on a 256GB Mac mini should not be compared directly with a 512GB configuration.
How the offers compare with Apple’s prices
Apple’s U.S. starting prices are $899 for M6 Mac mini, $1,699 for M5 Pro Mac mini, $2,499 for M5 Max Mac Studio, and $5,499 for M5 Ultra Mac Studio. Apple lists education starting prices of $799, $1,599, $2,299, and $5,099, respectively. These are starting prices for each chip tier, not like-for-like prices for every memory and storage option. Apple’s September 2026 announcement outlines configuration options and education eligibility.
#1 Best Overall
- Apple-designed M1 chip for a giant leap in CPU, GPU, and machine learning performance
- 8-core CPU packs up to 3x faster performance to fly through workflows quicker than ever*
- 8-core GPU with up to 6x faster graphics for graphics-intensive apps and games*
- 16-core Neural Engine for advanced machine learning
- 8GB of unified memory so everything you do is fast and fluid
Apple education pricing is an eligibility-based price, not a general public sale. Compare the same chip, memory, and storage configuration when deciding whether a retailer markdown is compelling. Apple said the new Mac mini and Mac Studio began arriving to customers and Apple Store locations on September 22, 2026. The 512GB unified-memory Mac Studio configuration was announced for late October, so its availability should not be assumed yet.
Which Mac deal makes sense for you?
M6 Mac mini: compact desktop buyers
The M6 Mac mini is the lower-cost desktop option among the newly launched Macs covered here. If the $699.99 Micro Center listing is live at a nearby store, it is substantially below Apple’s $899 starting price—but check whether the listing is for the 16GB/256GB configuration and whether local pickup is required. For the $1,069 16GB/512GB listing reported by MacRumors, the larger SSD is a different configuration, and the roundup’s $30 discount was reported on September 25.

M5 Max Mac Studio: workstation buyers
The Mac Studio is offered in higher-performance chip tiers than the Mac mini, with M5 Max starting at $2,499 and M5 Ultra at $5,499 in the U.S. Apple’s education starting price for M5 Max is $2,299. The reported $1,999.99 select-store listing would be lower than those baselines if it is still available for the specified 36GB/512GB model; availability is location-sensitive and must be confirmed. The $2,449 MacRumors observation was only $50 below Apple’s M5 Max starting price.

What Apple says about M6 Mac mini performance
Apple claims up to 4× faster AI performance for the M6 Mac mini compared with its specified previous-generation M4 Mac mini comparison system, based on Apple testing conducted in July 2026. That is a manufacturer claim, not an independent benchmark, and it should not be read as a general performance multiplier across tasks. The deal evidence here does not establish which desktop is objectively better for a particular workload.
