The ASUS Pad (T3201) is a 12.2-inch, 144Hz dual-layer OLED tablet, so the right alternative depends on whether you want a smaller premium device, a faster large-screen model, better travel entertainment, or a much larger workspace. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 is the closest compact premium option; the OnePlus Pad 3 targets large-screen performance; the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 is oriented toward audio and travel; and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is a substantially larger productivity canvas.
Those tablets are not interchangeable. Compare display size and panel, chipset, storage expansion, software ecosystem, accessories, weight, local warranty and current regional pricing before buying.

Quick answer: which ASUS Pad alternative fits you?
Start with the job you need the tablet to do rather than with a brand name. The Galaxy Tab S11 suits readers who want an 11-inch premium Android tablet with an included S Pen and Samsung productivity features. The OnePlus Pad 3 is the performance-and-screen-size choice if its 13.2-inch panel, Snapdragon 8 Elite platform and local support are available where you live. Lenovo’s Tab Plus Gen 2 is aimed at entertainment and travel, particularly when built-in audio matters more than heavy multitasking. The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is a 14.6-inch DeX-oriented workspace, not a like-for-like replacement for a 12.2-inch tablet.

What the ASUS Pad sets as the baseline
Display, size and build
ASUS announced the ASUS Pad (T3201) on June 2, 2026, describing the launch as its return to tablets after several years. The company’s announcement identifies an Android 16 tablet with a 12.2-inch dual-layer OLED display, a 523g weight and a 6.5mm chassis. ASUS’s announcement and the company’s India release provide the baseline specifications.
The India specification lists a 2.8K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. “Up to” is important: peak brightness is a maximum specification rather than a promise that the entire screen remains at that level in every mode. A 12.2-inch panel gives more working and viewing area than an 11-inch tablet while remaining smaller than the 13.2-inch and 14.6-inch alternatives.
Chip, connectivity and storage
The ASUS Pad uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 8300, runs Android 16, supports Wi‑Fi 6E and accepts a microSD card. The expansion slot matters if you keep downloaded video, photos, games or music locally. By contrast, TechRadar’s 2026 guide says the OnePlus Pad 3 has no microSD slot, so storage must be chosen at purchase or managed through external and cloud storage.
ASUS also lists GlideX for cross-device workflows and Google Circle to Search. These features may be useful if your phone and computer already fit that ecosystem, but their practical value depends on the devices and accounts you use.
Audio, battery and included equipment
The tablet has four speakers with Dolby Atmos and a 9,000mAh battery, according to the ASUS product page. Battery capacity alone does not establish runtime: screen brightness, refresh rate, wireless use and workload change endurance, and no directly comparable runtime test is provided here.
ASUS lists a protective case in the box. ASUS Pen 2.0 and a Bluetooth keyboard are optional accessories, and the company says stylus bundling varies by country and territory. Treat the case as included only where the local listing confirms it, and price the pen and keyboard separately if handwriting or laptop-style typing is central to your plan. ASUS notes that specifications can change and that products may not be available in every market. Check the current ASUS Pad product page for the destination market.
Galaxy Tab S11: the compact premium alternative
The Galaxy Tab S11 is the most natural choice when the 12.2-inch ASUS Pad feels too large but you still want a high-end Android tablet. Samsung’s US comparison page lists an 11-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with 2560 × 1600 resolution and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. That is a smaller display and a lower listed maximum refresh rate than the ASUS Pad’s 12.2-inch, 144Hz specification, but the reduced footprint can make the S11 easier to carry and hold for long reading sessions.

- SIMPLICITY IN HAND - Add a touch of style with a modern design that’s tailor-made to fit in your hand. It weighs less than a pound and has an 8.7” display that’s easy to tuck in a purse or backpack.
- NON-STOPPABLE FUN – Freedom never felt so sweet with all-day battery life and up to 12.5 hours of unplugged YouTube streaming. It’s designed to charge 15W faster than previous models so you can spend less time tethered to a power cable.
- PORTABLE MEDIA CENTER - Enjoy vibrant visuals, immersive sound, and endless entertainment anywhere you go. The HD display has 480 nits of brightness for realistic graphics and dual Dolby Atmos speakers that provide impressive sound depth.
- ELEVATED EFFICIENCY - Experience the MediaTek Helio G85 processor and 60Hz refresh rate that ensure fluid browsing, responsive gaming, and lag-free streaming.
Android Central’s 2026 Android-tablet guide says the S Pen is included and notes DeX support. An included pen changes the buying calculation for students and note-takers: you do not begin by adding a separate stylus, although the exact package should still be checked on your regional listing. DeX is relevant if you want a desktop-style interface and windowed productivity rather than a conventional phone-like tablet layout.
Choose the S11 when
- You prefer an 11-inch device for commuting, reading or hand-held use.
- You want an included S Pen rather than budgeting for a separate stylus.
- Samsung’s software and DeX workflow fit the phones, displays or accessories you already use.
Choose the ASUS Pad instead when
- You value the larger 12.2-inch canvas and 144Hz specification.
- You need the ASUS model’s listed microSD expansion or Wi‑Fi 6E features.
- You want the ASUS protective case included, subject to confirmation on the local package.
Samsung’s cited dimensions and refresh rate come from its US comparison page, so do not assume another country’s storage, connectivity or bundle is identical. Use Samsung’s comparison page as a starting point, then open the local product listing.
OnePlus Pad 3: the large-screen performance option
The OnePlus Pad 3 moves in the opposite direction from the Galaxy Tab S11. TechRadar’s 2026 Android-tablet guide lists a 13.2-inch display, 144Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, Android 15 with ColorOS 15 and 256GB or 512GB storage options. The screen is larger than the ASUS Pad while retaining the same published 144Hz refresh rate, making it appealing for split-screen work, games and fast scrolling.
The specification is not a substitute for testing. A chipset name can indicate the class of hardware, but actual game frame rates, sustained performance, heat and battery behavior depend on software, thermal design and the specific title. Look for current reviews that test the workloads you care about before paying a premium for the Snapdragon platform.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsTrade-offs to check before buying
- No microSD slot: TechRadar says the OnePlus Pad 3 lacks expandable storage. Select 256GB or 512GB with your long-term media and game library in mind.
- Keyboard cost: The optional keyboard adds to the purchase price. Include it in the total if the tablet is meant to replace a laptop for typing.
- Regional support: TechRadar’s guide reports that OnePlus has left the US and Europe. Confirm that the exact model is officially sold in your country, that warranty service is available and that replacement accessories can be obtained.
The OnePlus Pad 3 is therefore a strong fit only where local distribution and after-sales support are clear. If you cannot verify those points, the ASUS Pad or Samsung models may be safer purchases even if their published specifications look less aggressive for your workload. See TechRadar’s current guide for the cited model details and its availability warning.
Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2: entertainment and travel first
Tom’s Guide recommends the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 for Android entertainment and travel and reports that its audio outperforms several tablets considered in that guide. That makes it a different proposition from the ASUS Pad: the reason to choose it is the viewing and listening experience, not a race to the highest refresh rate or the most demanding multitasking.
The same guide identifies a Dimensity 7400 and an 8GB configuration, while cautioning that the large speaker can make the tablet awkward to hold. It also does not select this configuration for productivity or heavy multitasking. Those caveats matter if your “travel tablet” will also be your primary work computer.

- You usually use the tablet on a stand, tray or table, where the speaker housing is less intrusive.
- You do not need the most demanding multitasking or a keyboard-centered workflow.
Reasons to choose the ASUS Pad instead
- You want the ASUS model’s 12.2-inch 2.8K OLED specification and 144Hz mode.
- You need microSD expansion for a large offline library.
- You expect to combine media use with heavier general-purpose workloads and want a more performance-oriented baseline.
Tom’s Guide’s recommendation is editorial, not a standardized audio measurement. Listen to the Lenovo model in person if speaker quality is the deciding factor, and check the local storage, network and warranty configuration before ordering. Read Tom’s Guide’s 2026 tablet guide for the recommendation context.
Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra: a different-size workspace
The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is for buyers who deliberately want a very large canvas. Samsung’s US comparison page lists a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 2960 × 1848 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Android Central describes the size as suitable for DeX-style laptop-replacement use.
At 14.6 inches, the Ultra is more than two inches larger diagonally than the ASUS Pad. That extra area can make document layouts, timelines, drawing surfaces and side-by-side windows easier to see, but it also changes how you carry and hold the device. It is a premium-size option rather than the closest portable alternative.
Pick the Ultra when
- Your priority is maximum Android screen area for desk work, media or creative applications.
- You plan to use a stand or keyboard and are comfortable treating the tablet as a small workstation.
- You specifically want Samsung’s DeX-oriented workflow on the largest screen in this comparison.
Pick a smaller model when
- You regularly use the tablet one-handed or in cramped travel seating.
- You want a device that fits the physical role of the 12.2-inch ASUS Pad rather than a desk-first replacement.
- You would rather spend on storage, a keyboard or a pen than on a larger panel.
The Ultra’s cited resolution and refresh rate are Samsung US figures. Confirm the regional model and included accessories before comparing prices. Samsung’s comparison page is the source for the published display specifications.
Match the tablet to your actual workload
Streaming, music and travel
For a travel-first tablet, decide whether you value compact handling, screen size or sound. The 11-inch Galaxy Tab S11 is the easiest size in this group to justify when hand-held portability comes first. The Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 deserves consideration when speakers are the priority and you are comfortable using a stand. The ASUS Pad adds a larger OLED panel, microSD expansion and a case listed as included, while the 14.6-inch Ultra is best treated as a stationary media canvas.

Handwriting, study and annotation
Accessory cost and availability matter as much as screen resolution. Android Central says the Galaxy Tab S11 includes an S Pen. ASUS lists Pen 2.0 compatibility but says bundling varies by territory, so add the pen’s local price before deciding. A keyboard is not a substitute for a stylus: choose the input method that matches whether you will write, draw, annotate PDFs or type long documents.
Gaming and demanding applications
The OnePlus Pad 3 has the most performance-forward published platform in this set, with Snapdragon 8 Elite and a 144Hz display listed by TechRadar. The ASUS Pad combines a Dimensity 8300 with a 144Hz panel. Those specifications identify candidates for demanding use but do not prove which one sustains higher frame rates in a particular game. Check current, model-specific testing for thermals, throttling, controller compatibility and the games you actually play.

Multitasking and keyboard work
Screen area, software layout and accessory cost all affect a keyboard workflow. The 14.6-inch Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra offers the largest canvas and is described by Android Central as suitable for DeX-style laptop-replacement use. The OnePlus Pad 3 offers a 13.2-inch screen but its keyboard is optional. The ASUS Pad sits between them at 12.2 inches and lists a Bluetooth keyboard as optional. The Galaxy Tab S11 is more compact and includes DeX support according to Android Central, but its 11-inch workspace is smaller.
Before calling any tablet a laptop replacement, list the applications and files you need, then test whether the Android versions support your workflows. A larger screen can improve multitasking, but it cannot guarantee desktop-class features in every app.
How to choose the right screen size and panel
Screen diagonal changes the physical role of a tablet more than a small specification gap suggests. An 11-inch device favors hand-held reading and travel. The ASUS Pad’s 12.2 inches is a middle ground for media and two-pane work. The OnePlus Pad 3’s 13.2 inches and the S11 Ultra’s 14.6 inches favor desk use, split-screen layouts and a stand or keyboard.
Panel specifications also need context. The ASUS Pad is the only model here with a published dual-layer OLED and up-to-2,000-nit peak-brightness claim. Samsung lists Dynamic AMOLED 2X for both S11 models. Refresh rates of 120Hz and 144Hz describe the maximum or adaptive mode offered by the device; they do not by themselves establish brightness consistency, battery life or game performance. Compare resolution and color claims alongside physical size, because the same pixel count can look different on different diagonals.
Storage, expansion and accessories can change the value
Storage is a decision you make once if the tablet lacks expansion. ASUS lists microSD support. TechRadar says the OnePlus Pad 3 does not. That difference is significant for large offline libraries, camera files and games. The OnePlus model’s 256GB and 512GB choices give you more capacity at purchase, but they also require you to predict future needs.
Accessory bundles are market-specific. ASUS lists a protective case in the box, while Pen 2.0 and the Bluetooth keyboard are optional and stylus inclusion varies. Android Central says the Galaxy Tab S11 includes an S Pen. TechRadar notes that the OnePlus keyboard is optional. Treat every bundle as a local SKU rather than assuming a review unit’s contents match the listing you see.
Prices, availability and support: verify your market
ASUS India announced launch prices of INR 45,990 for the 8GB/128GB ASUS Pad and INR 49,990 for the 8GB/256GB version. The release was published August 6, 2026, and those prices are subject to change. They apply to India and should not be presented as a global price.

ASUS states that products may not be available in every market. Samsung specifications cited here come from Samsung’s US comparison page. TechRadar’s availability warning applies specifically to the OnePlus Pad 3’s reported US and European situation. Before ordering any model, verify:
- The exact country SKU, storage capacity and wireless configuration.
- Whether the seller is authorized and what warranty and repair coverage it provides.
- Which pen, keyboard and case are included in that package.
- Current stock, taxes, delivery charges and return terms.
- Software and security-support information published for your region.
Product lineups, prices, bundles and support policies can change quickly. Recheck the manufacturer’s regional page and retailer listing close to purchase; a specification page from another country is not a guarantee of local availability.
A practical buying checklist
Use this sequence to avoid paying for the wrong trade-off:
- Name the primary job. Select one: travel entertainment, handwriting and study, gaming, media storage, or keyboard-based multitasking.
- Set a physical limit. Decide whether an 11-inch, 12.2-inch, 13.2-inch or 14.6-inch tablet fits your hands, bag and usual seating.
- Choose the panel priority. Compare OLED or AMOLED type, resolution, refresh rate and brightness claims rather than looking only at diagonal size.
- Check storage strategy. If you need removable media, favor a model that explicitly lists microSD support; otherwise buy enough internal storage at checkout.
- Price the complete kit. Add the keyboard, pen, case, charger and any required adapter. Do not assume a stylus is included because the tablet supports one.
- Validate demanding workloads. Find current tests for your games or applications. Do not infer sustained performance from chipset branding alone.
- Confirm local support. Check the country SKU, warranty, repair route, software policy and accessory stock.
Which Android tablet alternative should you buy?
Buy the Galaxy Tab S11 if compact premium hardware, an included S Pen and Samsung’s productivity ecosystem matter more than maximum screen area. Choose the OnePlus Pad 3 if you want the largest performance-oriented option below the Ultra and can confirm local support, storage and keyboard costs. Choose the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 for entertainment and travel when its audio-focused design suits your handling style. Choose the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra only if you intentionally want a 14.6-inch desk-first workspace.
The ASUS Pad remains the strongest middle-ground baseline when you want a 12.2-inch 144Hz dual-layer OLED, microSD expansion, a 9,000mAh battery and a case listed as included. Its India prices and accessory bundles are regional, so compare the complete local package rather than relying on a headline specification.
