The best CodeRabbit alternative depends on your repository host, how much code context you need reviewed, and how your team handles pull requests. Consider GitHub Copilot code review for a GitHub-based workflow, Qodo for cross-repository context and organizational controls, Greptile for repository-wide context, and Graphite if your team uses stacked pull requests. CodeAnt AI is worth evaluating if combined AI review and security scanning is a priority. Amazon CodeGuru Reviewer is not a good choice for a new setup: AWS put it into maintenance mode in November 2025.
Which CodeRabbit alternative fits your workflow?
There is no universal winner. These products differ in their integrations and workflow emphasis, and the available information does not support an independent performance ranking or claims that one catches more bugs than another.
| Alternative | Best fit to investigate | What the evidence supports |
|---|---|---|
| GitHub Copilot code review | Teams that keep code review in GitHub pull requests | GitHub documents requested and automatic reviews, with suggestions; the default review is a comment, not an approval. GitHub Docs |
| Qodo | Teams seeking full-codebase or cross-repository context, standards enforcement, and enterprise deployment options | Qodo’s product page describes these capabilities and lists GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, and Gerrit Enterprise support. Qodo |
| Greptile | Teams prioritizing repository-wide context | This positioning comes from Dupple’s September 2026 comparison, not an independent evaluation. Dupple comparison |
| Graphite | Teams using or adopting stacked pull requests | This workflow fit is identified by the same secondary comparison; confirm current capabilities with Graphite. Dupple comparison |
| CodeAnt AI | Teams evaluating AI pull-request review alongside security scanning | The bundled-review-and-scanning characterization comes from a comparison published by CodeAnt itself; verify the current offering with the vendor. Dupple comparison |
| Amazon CodeGuru Reviewer | Existing users maintaining an established association | AWS says the service entered maintenance mode on November 7, 2025, and new repository associations cannot be created. AWS documentation |
Greptile and Graphite are useful shortlist candidates based on the cited comparison, but those descriptions are not independently verified product evaluations here. The same comparison names Cursor Bugbot and Sourcery; current primary documentation was not available to substantiate detailed recommendations for them.
How to choose a CodeRabbit replacement
1. Check your Git provider and deployment model
Start with the repository host your team actually uses, including whether it is cloud-hosted or self-managed. Confirm that the product supports that setup before comparing review features. Qodo lists GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, and Gerrit Enterprise on its official product page, but check the vendor’s current documentation for your specific configuration.

2. Decide how much code context the review needs
Ask whether the review should inspect only changed lines or consider the broader repository, pull-request history, business requirements, and dependent repositories. Qodo describes full-codebase and cross-repository review; the secondary comparison positions Greptile around repository-wide context. Treat those as vendor and comparison descriptions, not proof of equal capability or review quality.
3. Match the tool to the team’s pull-request process
Consider where reviewers work and how changes move toward merge. GitHub Copilot code review is designed to operate in the GitHub pull-request flow. Graphite is identified in the comparison as a fit for stacked pull requests, a workflow where related changes are divided across dependent PRs. Confirm current product behavior before changing a team’s process around it.

4. Keep review comments separate from approval authority
An AI review can surface concerns or suggest edits without satisfying a human-approval rule. GitHub says Copilot’s default review leaves a comment review rather than an approval or request-changes review. Check each tool’s behavior against branch protection, required reviewers, and your organization’s governance policy; do not treat AI feedback as a required human sign-off unless your controls explicitly allow it.
5. Evaluate security and governance as separate needs
Distinguish AI-generated review observations from deterministic security scanning and formal governance controls. Qodo advertises organization-specific standards, audit trails, security options, and deployment choices. CodeAnt’s combined review and scanning positioning should be checked against its current official materials. Confirm which checks are actually included, how results are recorded, and what deployment or data-handling options apply to your team.

6. Calculate cost using your real pull-request volume
Compare included reviews or credits, overages, private-repository usage, and expected PR volume using each vendor’s current pricing page or a direct quote. Dupple’s comparison says its prices are as of June 2026 and discloses referral monetization, so those figures are historical context rather than verified current quotes. Do not assume a listed plan will cost the same at your team’s actual usage.
When should existing CodeGuru users move?
AWS’s lifecycle guidance makes CodeGuru Reviewer a maintenance choice, not a fresh-start recommendation: maintenance mode began November 7, 2025, and AWS says no new repository associations can be created, while existing associations continue to function. AWS recommends Amazon Q Developer for code review and security scanning, and Amazon Inspector for repository vulnerability scanning. Choose a replacement based on the capabilities and controls your team needs rather than assuming these services are identical or interchangeable.

What AI code review can—and cannot—settle
AI review tools can contribute comments and suggested changes, but the material cited here does not establish a dependable error-detection rate or show that AI can replace human reviewers. Keep people responsible for evaluating correctness, intended behavior, security trade-offs, and whether a proposed change belongs in the codebase. A vendor-published Qodo testimonial from CTO Chris Howard says, “Qodo does about 90% of that initial code review, and then it’s really just the final 10% where humans get involved.” That is a customer testimonial, not independently verified evidence of typical results.
