What AI tool can generate app and website mockups? The right choice depends on what you mean by “mockup”: an early wireframe, an editable design, a clickable prototype, or interface code you can run. Figma Make, Uizard, Vercel v0, and Relume address different parts of that workflow, so there is no single best tool for every project.
Choose by the artifact you need
A static concept image can help communicate a visual direction, but it is not the same as an editable interface or a working app. Before choosing a generator, decide what you need to review or hand off: page structure, screen layouts, a clickable flow, or code-backed behavior.

- Wireframe: A low-detail outline of screens or website pages, useful for deciding what goes where.
- Editable design: A design artifact you can refine in a design workflow. Check the tool’s current editing and export options before relying on a specific handoff.
- Interactive prototype: A visual flow that can be clicked through to demonstrate navigation or an intended experience.
- Generated UI or app code: A code-backed starting point that can be run and potentially deployed. It requires technical review; a generated interface is not automatically production-ready.
These distinctions matter during evaluation, too. A polished first screen does not prove that multiple screens are consistent, accessible, or ready for production. A peer-reviewed paper discusses how structured AI-generated interfaces and static images can support different kinds of evaluation, including accessibility review: the 2025 research paper.

| Tool | What the cited sources describe | Best fit to consider |
|---|---|---|
| Figma Make | Figma positions it for prompt-based website and interactive prototype creation, with a workflow involving generation, preview, and iteration. Figma AI website builder | A prompt-driven starting point for someone working in a design or prototyping process. |
| Uizard | Figma’s 2026 UX tools guide lists wireframe scanning and prompt-to-UI generation. Figma UX tools guide | Early ideation and wireframing. Confirm current editing and export details in Uizard’s own documentation before choosing it for a particular handoff. |
| Vercel v0 | Vercel says v0 generates UI and project code from natural-language descriptions, and generated projects can be deployed to Vercel. Vercel v0 documentation | A code-backed prototype or app workflow, rather than a canvas for static mockups alone. |
| Relume | Figma’s prototyping guide lists AI sitemap and wireframe generation. Figma prototyping guide | Planning website information architecture and page-level wireframes. |

#1 Best Overall
Which tool should you choose?
For a prompt-based website or interactive concept: Figma Make
Figma presents Make as a way to create websites and interactive prototypes from prompts. Consider it when you want a generated starting point that you can preview and iterate on within a design-oriented workflow. The cited description does not establish that it automatically produces production-ready code.
For early wireframes: Uizard
Figma’s 2026 guide identifies Uizard’s wireframe-scanning and prompt-to-UI capabilities, making it relevant when the first task is exploring screen ideas rather than building a deployable application. Because the cited guide does not specify current export or editing behavior, verify those details against Uizard’s current product documentation if they affect your handoff.
Rank #2
For code-backed prototypes and app-building: Vercel v0
Vercel describes v0 as turning natural-language descriptions into UI and code, with generated projects deployable to Vercel. Choose this direction if the goal is to move from an interface idea toward a running prototype or app and you are prepared to inspect and refine code. Its current documentation is the better source for present-day capabilities; the 2023 launch announcement is historical context, not a full current specification.
At launch, Vercel VP of Product Jared Palmer described the interaction as: “Describe the interface you want to build”. The October 11, 2023 announcement said v0 generated code using React, Tailwind CSS, and shadcn/ui and let users iterate before copying code into an app. Those details describe the launch-era product: Vercel’s v0 announcement.
Rank #3
For website structure and page wireframes: Relume
Relume is the option to consider when the immediate need is to map a website’s information architecture and produce wireframes. Figma’s prototyping guide describes its sitemap and wireframe generation; that positioning is more specific to website structure than to a finished, code-backed app.
How to evaluate a generated result
- Check that the output matches the brief. Does it deliver a wireframe, design, clickable prototype, or code rather than a different artifact?
- Review the whole flow, not just the first screen. Inspect how layouts and interactions hold together across pages or app screens.
- Test the handoff you actually need. Confirm current editing, export, file ownership, and integration behavior in the tool’s documentation before building a workflow around them.
- Review accessibility and usability with people, not just a visual preview. Structured interfaces can make some kinds of review possible that a flat image cannot; neither output guarantees an accessible result.
- Match the tool to your skills and next step. A designer may prioritize editable design work, a beginner may prioritize wireframe exploration, and a developer may value code they can inspect and run.
What the adoption figure does—and does not—say
Figma’s prototyping guide says that 60% of Figma files created in the year before its State of the Designer 2026 report were made by non-designers. That figure concerns Figma files during that period; it is not an estimate of all design files, the whole design industry, or the quality of AI-generated work. Figma’s prototyping guide
