If you want a Switch game with the same broad mix as Manairons, start with BAKERU for linear action, A Hat in Time for a larger character-led platforming adventure, or Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker if its puzzles interest you more than jumping. Manairons is listed for digital release on Nintendo Switch on October 8, 2026; as of October 4, it is still upcoming. Nintendo describes it as a Pyrenees-set 3D action platformer built around exploration, melody-based puzzles, flute combat, bosses and secrets. Nintendo’s listing has the platform-specific date and feature description.
What makes a game like Manairons?
Manairons follows Nai, a manairó awakened from a magical artifact called the canut, as he tries to stop a landowner whose machines have disrupted Vilamont. Its particular appeal is the combination of a 3D action-platforming setting, exploration, puzzles solved with magical melodies, combat with a flute, bosses and hidden secrets. The publisher’s factsheet repeats those core elements.

No other game below duplicates that Pyrenean folklore setting or melody-and-flute mechanics. The closest fit depends on which part of the mix you want: a larger exploration-led adventure, direct action and collectibles, compact retro stages, or puzzle rooms that make platforming secondary.

Which Switch platformer should you choose?
| Game | Best fit | How it differs from Manairons |
|---|---|---|
| A Hat in Time | A substantial, character-led 3D platforming adventure | A broad platformer recommendation rather than a match for the Pyrenees setting or flute puzzles. |
| BAKERU | Linear action, combat and collectibles | More forward-moving and stage-like; it does not share Manairons’ setting or flute-based puzzle mechanic. |
| Banjo-Kazooie | Colourful exploration and abundant collectibles | Available on Switch through Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack; access depends on that subscription tier. |
| Toree 3D | A short, colourful retro throwback | Compact and low-poly rather than a large adventure. |
| Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker | Spatial puzzles and carefully planned stages | A 3D platform puzzler without a jump button, so it changes the conventional run-and-jump feel. |
| Blue Fire | A tougher action-platforming challenge | Its demanding combat and traversal make it a less suitable pick if you want an easier adventure. |
These distinctions are based on the game descriptions and recommendations in Nintendo Life’s Switch 3D platformer guide, updated May 22, 2026. The table is about Nintendo Switch games; check the platform listing before buying if you are using a Switch 1, since the guide also covers Switch 2 titles.

Best picks by the part of Manairons you want
For a bigger 3D platforming adventure: A Hat in Time
Choose A Hat in Time if you want a substantial, character-led 3D platformer. It is a better fit for the general adventure side of Manairons than for its specific magical-melody puzzles or Pyrenean folklore.
For linear action and collectibles: BAKERU
BAKERU is the clearest pick if you prefer stages that keep moving, with combat and collectibles along the way. Nintendo Life characterizes it as a linear 3D platformer and says a physical copy is not hard to find. Availability can still vary by retailer and region, so check the listing where you plan to buy.
Rank #2
- Experience the classic run and gun action with a pal in 2-player local co-op
- Includes the “Delicious Last Course” expansion filled with new bosses and brand-new character Ms. Chalice
- Includes exclusive “Cuphead Funnies” comic collector cards & vintage-inspired “Cuphead Club Membership”, and a hand-drawn reversible coversheet
For a classic collectathon: Banjo-Kazooie
If colourful exploration and gathering collectibles are the draw, Banjo-Kazooie is a natural choice. On Switch it is playable through the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack tier, so it is not a standalone Switch game purchase in the same sense as the other recommendations.
For a brief retro-style platformer: Toree 3D
Toree 3D suits players after a short, colourful, low-poly diversion rather than a sprawling world. It is the compact option here, not the choice for an extended exploration-led adventure.
Rank #3
- Includes the Picnic Panic DLC!
- Dynamic, acrobatic gameplay and ultra tight controls worthy of an epic ninja adventure.
- Character upgrades, new abilities, hidden levels, and branching paths to discover.
- Meticulously designed 8-bit and 16-bit sprites, animations, and backgrounds in the spirit of the classics.
- Original soundtrack by renowned chiptune composer Rainbowdragoneyes, handmade using Famitracker.
For puzzle-led stages: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is worth considering if the spatial problem-solving in Manairons sounds more appealing than its action. It is a 3D platform puzzler, but there is no jump button; the challenge comes from navigating and solving stages rather than relying on conventional run-and-jump platforming.
For a harder action challenge: Blue Fire
Pick Blue Fire if you want combat and demanding traversal. Its Void stages and high difficulty make it a deliberate challenge choice, not the gentlest substitute for Manairons.

Nintendo’s US store lists Manairons as a digital Nintendo Switch game with an October 8, 2026 release date. That is the Switch-specific date to use for this recommendation; the publisher factsheet lists February 19, 2026 alongside several platforms, which need not be the date for the Switch version. Store dates can change, so check Nintendo’s US listing near release. The date and digital availability stated here apply to that US listing, not necessarily other regions or editions.
