There is no single best 27-inch monitor for everyone. For a premium all-rounder, RTINGS recommends the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM; for productivity, compare the Dell U2725QE and Acer Nitro XV275K P5biipruzx; for lower-cost mixed use, consider the Dell S2725QC or AOC Q27G3XMN. Competitive gamers may prefer a fast QHD OLED such as the MSI MPG 271QRX. The right choice depends on resolution, refresh rate, panel behavior, ports, and your computer’s capabilities.

How these 2026 recommendations were evaluated

The shortlist below draws on named reviews and guides, not independent testing for this article. RTINGS’ guide considers products available in the United States and says its recommendations reflect its review, visitor feedback, price, and availability. Rankings and stock can differ by market, so verify the exact regional model and current availability before buying. RTINGS’ best 27-inch monitors guide

Best premium mixed-use pick: ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM

RTINGS names the 27-inch ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM its best 27-inch pick. It combines a 3840 × 2160 (4K) resolution with a 240 Hz refresh rate and a QD-OLED panel, making it a high-end option for detailed work and demanding gaming. RTINGS reports deep blacks in a dark room, but says blacks can look purple in bright rooms. OLED also carries a burn-in risk with prolonged exposure to the same static elements, such as persistent desktop toolbars.

For productivity and laptop connectivity: Dell U2725QE or Acer Nitro XV275K P5biipruzx

RTINGS positions the Dell U2725QE as a 4K alternative with many work-oriented features. Its picture quality is weaker than the ASUS in some respects: RTINGS notes that blacks can appear gray around bright highlights. The guide also highlights USB hub, KVM, and Thunderbolt differences among alternatives, so confirm that the specific features you need are present.

#1 Best Overall
Acer 27in FHD 1920x1080 IPS 120Hz Gaming Monitor | Office KB272 G0bi | 1ms, AdaptiveSync, sRGB 99%, HDMI, VGA, VESA Mountable, Bluelight Filter
  • Incredible Images: The Acer KB272 G0bi 27" monitor with 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution in a 16:9 aspect ratio presents stunning, high-quality images with excellent detail.
  • Adaptive-Sync Support: Get fast refresh rates thanks to the Adaptive-Sync Support (FreeSync Compatible) product that matches the refresh rate of your monitor with your graphics card. The result is a smooth, tear-free experience in gaming and video playback applications.
  • Responsive!!: Fast response time of 1ms enhances the experience. No matter the fast-moving action or any dramatic transitions will be all rendered smoothly without the annoying effects of smearing or ghosting. A 120Hz refresh rate speeds up the frames per second to deliver smooth 2D motion scenes in gaming and video.
  • 27" Full HD (1920 x 1080) Widescreen IPS Monitor | Adaptive-Sync Support (FreeSync Compatible)
  • Refresh Rate: Up to 120Hz | Response Time: 1ms VRB | Brightness: 250 nits | Pixel Pitch: 0.311mm

The 4K Acer Nitro XV275K P5biipruzx is notable for USB-C power delivery rated at 90 W, a native 160 Hz refresh rate, and a dual mode that reaches 320 Hz at 1080p, as reported by RTINGS. Its hub is smaller and it lacks Thunderbolt; its USB-C power delivery is lower than the Dell option discussed in that guide. Check whether the charging wattage and ports suit your laptop and accessories.

Lower mid-range 4K: Dell S2725QC

RTINGS describes the Dell S2725QC as a 27-inch 4K IPS monitor with a 120 Hz refresh rate, USB hub, and 65 W USB-C power delivery. It is a practical combination for general work and everyday use when 4K detail and laptop charging matter. Its HDR performance is weak, and it has no local dimming, according to RTINGS.

Rank #2
Philips 27" Computer Monitor FHD 100Hz VA VESA Eye Care, 271V8LB | 1920×1080 LED Monitor, 4ms GtG, HDMI 1.4, VGA, Adaptive Sync, Flicker-Free, Low Blue Light, 4yr Advance Replacement Warranty
  • CRISP CLARITY: This 27″ Philips V line monitor delivers crisp Full HD 1920x1080 visuals. Enjoy movies, shows and videos with remarkable detail
  • INCREDIBLE CONTRAST: The VA panel produces brighter whites and deeper blacks. You get true-to-life images and more gradients with 16.7 million colors
  • THE PERFECT VIEW: The 178/178 degree extra wide viewing angle prevents the shifting of colors when viewed from an offset angle, so you always get consistent colors
  • WORK SEAMLESSLY: This sleek monitor is virtually bezel-free on three sides, so the screen looks even bigger for the viewer. This minimalistic design also allows for seamless multi-monitor setups that enhance your workflow and boost productivity
  • A BETTER READING EXPERIENCE: For busy office workers, EasyRead mode provides a more paper-like experience for when viewing lengthy documents

Budget QHD with Mini LED: AOC Q27G3XMN

The AOC Q27G3XMN pairs a QHD resolution with Mini LED backlighting. RTINGS highlights its bright highlights, local dimming, and ability to fight glare, which can make it appealing for budget-conscious mixed use or a brighter room. The trade-offs are no USB ports and some black smearing in fast, dark scenes. Its 2560 × 1440 image is less sharp than the 4K alternatives listed here.

Competitive gaming: MSI MPG 271QRX

PC Gamer reports that the 27-inch MSI MPG 271QRX has a 2560 × 1440 resolution, 360 Hz refresh rate, and 0.03 ms response time. That combination is aimed at high-refresh-rate PC gaming, not primarily at office productivity. PC Gamer notes the model’s extreme performance comes with a high price. Newly announced productivity option: Lenovo ThinkVision P27UL-40

Tom’s Guide reported that Lenovo announced the ThinkVision P27UL-40 at IFA 2026 as a 27-inch 4K OLED Thunderbolt productivity monitor. Lenovo’s stated targets, as reported by Tom’s Guide, are 99% DCI-P3, 100% sRGB, and 500 nits HDR brightness; those are manufacturer targets, not independent test results. Treat it as an announced product until regional retail availability, final specifications, and reviews are confirmed. Tom’s Guide’s ThinkVision P27UL-40 coverage

Choose resolution and refresh rate for your device

At 27 inches, 4K provides more pixels for fine detail and text than QHD. That can suit productivity and detailed imagery, though scaling preferences and the operating system affect how comfortable text feels. QHD—2560 × 1440—is common among gaming-focused models and asks less of the graphics hardware than 4K. Choose based on the computer or console you will actually connect, not just the monitor’s maximum specification.

Sceptre E275W-19203R 27 inch1080P LED Monitor 99% sRGB 2X HDMI VGA Build-In Speakers, Machine Black (E275W-19203R series)
  • 27" LED Monitor 1920 x 1080 Full HD Resolution Up to 75Hz Refresh Rate Adaptive Sync Supported VESA Wall-Mountable HDMI x 2, VGA x 1
  • 100Hz Refresh Rate: With 100Hz refresh rate, images change faster and smoother than the standard, reducing screen tearing
  • Ports: One VGA and two HDMI ports each accelerate refresh rate up to 75Hz, providing the visual edge you need to defeat any opponent during all of your gaming adventures.
  • Built-in Speakers: With built-in speakers, the monitor delivers office level audio for conference calls and internet workshops. Similarly, enjoy engaging audio while listening to your favorite tunes.
  • Blue Light Shift: Reduce your monitors blue light to protect you from eye fatigue, irritation and strains. This enables you to work on your documents, watch movies, or play games more comfortably for extended periods.

Refresh rate matters most when the source can deliver the corresponding frame rate. A 240 Hz or 360 Hz panel does not make a game run at that rate by itself; check your PC’s performance and the connection requirements. For mixed work and play, a 4K monitor with a moderate-to-high refresh rate may be a better balance than an extreme gaming specification.

Understand OLED, IPS, and Mini LED trade-offs

  • OLED and QD-OLED: Strong dark-room contrast and suited to gaming, but static desktop elements raise burn-in concerns over prolonged exposure. RTINGS also reports that the ASUS QD-OLED’s blacks look purple in bright rooms. PC Gamer cautions that current OLED monitor pixel density can be less ideal for crisp fonts and dense desktop use.
  • IPS: A familiar option for general-purpose 4K work. The Dell S2725QC is IPS, but RTINGS says its HDR performance is weak and it lacks local dimming.
  • Mini LED: Local dimming can support bright highlights, as noted for the AOC Q27G3XMN, but that model’s dark-scene smearing may matter in fast games.

Check ports, charging, and setup before buying

A monitor intended to double as a laptop dock needs more than a USB-C-shaped port. Confirm that it supports video over USB-C, supplies enough charging power for your laptop, and has the hub, KVM, or Thunderbolt features you require. In RTINGS’ comparisons, the Acer Nitro XV275K P5biipruzx is listed with 90 W USB-C power delivery and the Dell S2725QC with 65 W. These figures describe the cited models; check the precise regional SKU and manufacturer specifications.

Also verify HDMI and DisplayPort versions for your source device, stand adjustments, mounting compatibility, desk depth, and the layout you want for multiple displays. Those details can vary by model and regional SKU, so consult the product specification for the exact version you plan to purchase.

A quick matching guide

  1. For a premium screen for both games and general use: Start with the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM if its price, bright-room behavior, and OLED static-image trade-offs fit.
  2. For a work-focused 4K setup: Compare the Dell U2725QE’s work features with the Acer Nitro’s 90 W USB-C charging and higher-refresh options; check ports and image trade-offs against your workflow.
  3. For more modest 4K mixed use: Consider the Dell S2725QC if its USB hub and 65 W charging meet your needs and strong HDR is not a priority.
  4. For budget QHD with bright highlights: Consider the AOC Q27G3XMN if Mini LED appeal outweighs the absence of USB ports and its potential dark-scene smearing.
  5. For competitive gaming: The MSI MPG 271QRX’s 360 Hz QHD panel is the most explicitly high-refresh-focused option in this shortlist; make sure your PC and budget justify that focus.
