Beats 360 is the newer over-ear headphone, adding interchangeable cushions, IPX4 sweat and water resistance, and a longer stated battery life with noise cancellation on. Beats also claims up to 1.75 times more combined active and passive noise cancellation than Studio Pro, but that is a manufacturer claim, not an independent comparison. Studio Pro remains the better fit for 3.5 mm analog listening and wired lossless audio over USB-C.
Beats 360 vs. Studio Pro: the main differences
Both models offer active noise cancellation (ANC), Transparency mode, Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking, USB-C, and Apple ecosystem features, according to Beats’ official comparison. The meaningful differences are customization, resistance, battery estimates, wired options, weight, and launch pricing.

Interchangeable cushions
Beats describes Beats 360 as its first customizable over-ear headphone. The standard set comes with color-matched Performance Knit cushions; owners can swap the earcup and headband cushions and choose separately sold Performance Knit or UltraPlush kits. Beats announced a standard U.S. cushion-kit price of $49.99 and a limited introductory $9.99 price in select markets. That introductory offer was time- and market-limited, so neither amount should be assumed to be the current price or availability. Details are in the September 22, 2026 Beats announcement.
#1 Best Overall
- INCREDIBLE SOUND: Custom acoustic platform delivers rich, balanced audio for music, calls and everyday listening.
- LOSSLESS AUDIO SUPPORT: USB-C lossless audio and sound profiles optimize music quality across devices and environments. Additional option to use the 3.5 mm cable for a standard analog experience.
- ACTIVE NOISE CANCELLING (ANC): block distractions at work, on flights or during your daily commute. Or use Transparency mode to let the sounds of your environment mix in with your music.
- SEAMLESS WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY: One-touch pairing with Apple & Android for easy switching across devices.
- SPATIAL AUDIO IMMERSION: Personalized dynamic head tracking, 360-degree sound for movies, music and immersive everyday listening.
IPX4 rating for exercise
Beats 360 has an IPX4 sweat and water resistance rating; Beats lists no such rating for Studio Pro in its comparison. This makes the newer model the one to consider for non-water exercise, but IPX4 does not mean waterproof or suitable for submersion. The rating and product details appear on the Beats 360 specifications page.
Longer stated ANC-on battery life
Beats lists up to 32 hours for Beats 360 with ANC and Personalized Spatial Audio enabled, compared with up to 24 hours for Studio Pro with ANC. These are manufacturer estimates, so actual runtime may differ with use. The quick-charge claims favor different situations: Beats says five minutes gives Beats 360 up to one hour, while ten minutes gives Studio Pro up to four hours. Those exact claims do not establish that one model always charges faster.

A vendor-reported noise-cancellation improvement
Beats says Beats 360 delivers up to 1.75 times more combined active and passive noise cancellation than Studio Pro, under testing based on IEC 60268-24. This is a Beats claim; the published comparison does not establish how the two perform in an independent test or for every listener. Beats also describes Beats 360’s new acoustic architecture and custom drivers, three-layer diaphragms, dual neodymium magnets, and Adaptive EQ in its launch announcement.

Analog input and wired lossless audio
Studio Pro has a 3.5 mm analog input and supports lossless audio over USB-C or a 3.5 mm cable. Beats also lists three built-in USB-C sound profiles for music, entertainment, and conversation. These are practical distinctions if you connect to analog equipment, in-flight entertainment, or prefer a wired lossless connection. Beats’ Studio Pro page describes these features.

Lower published weight
Beats lists Studio Pro at 260 g and Beats 360 at 294.5 g. Studio Pro is lighter on those published specifications; the figures alone do not establish which headphones will feel more comfortable, since fit is personal.
Is Beats 360 worth $50 more?
At the U.S. launch prices announced in September 2026, Beats 360 cost $50 more than Studio Pro. That difference buys the interchangeable-cushion system and IPX4 rating, plus a higher stated ANC-on battery estimate and Beats’ claimed cancellation improvement. It does not buy a 3.5 mm jack or the wired-lossless options listed for Studio Pro. Check current prices, promotions, and cushion-kit availability before deciding; launch prices may no longer apply.

Which model should you choose?
Choose Beats 360 if
- You want to change cushion color or material with optional model-specific kits.
- You want an IPX4-rated option for non-water exercise.
- The longer published ANC-on battery estimate matters to you.
- You are interested in Beats’ noise-cancellation claim but understand it is not an independent result.
Choose Studio Pro if
- You need a 3.5 mm analog input or wired lossless playback.
- You prefer the lower published weight.
- The current price difference makes it a better value for the features you will use.
Comfort, sound quality, and real-world ANC performance are not settled by the specification comparison. If those are decisive, try the fit where possible and look for independent listening and measurement tests rather than treating manufacturer claims as a guarantee.
