Beats 360 is easiest to recommend as a workout-focused over-ear headphone, not as an all-purpose premium leader. Its unusual draw is a set of interchangeable earcup and headband cushions paired with IPX4 sweat and water resistance. At the US launch price of $349.99, the trade-offs matter: reviewers disagree about its sound, some report clamp discomfort, and it has no wired audio option.

Are Beats 360 good for workouts?
That is the clearest reason to consider them. WIRED and Tom’s Guide both describe workout use as a strong fit, pointing to the IPX4 rating and modular cushions; WIRED also praised the secure fit. Unlike most over-ears, Beats 360 is designed to pair cushioning options with exercise use, rather than asking you to treat the headset as a fragile everyday accessory.

IPX4 is not waterproofing. Beats says the rating covers sweat and water exposure associated with non-water sports and exercise, not immersion or swimming. Resistance is not permanent and may decrease with normal wear, and the headphones should not be charged while wet. For care and drying, follow the manufacturer’s current guidance rather than assuming a rinse is safe.

The fit is personal: a secure hold during movement can come with more clamp pressure during long listening sessions. WIRED found the clamping uncomfortable for everyday wear, so try them for the length of a typical commute if possible before choosing them as your only pair.

- SPATIAL AUDIO IMMERSION: Personalized dynamic head tracking, 360-degree sound for movies, music and immersive everyday listening.
What do the interchangeable cushions change?
The four launch colors—Black, Cloud, Pink and Sky—come with matching Performance Knit earcup and headband cushions. Separate kits include both the earcup and headband pieces. Beats lists Performance Knit in Black, Cloud, Pink, Sky, Navy and Volt, and UltraPlush in Black and Cloud. Beats product specifications
SoundGuys’ reviewer describes Performance Knit as more breathable and moisture-wicking, while UltraPlush provides a tighter seal that may benefit ANC. Those are reviewer observations, not a guarantee that one material will feel better for every head or climate. The swap system also makes the headphones more customizable than a conventional fixed-cushion design; it does not establish how long either material will last.

How do Beats 360 sound, and how good is the noise cancelling?
Reviewers do not agree on the sound signature. TechRadar’s reviewer, after spending weeks with the headphones, found them more balanced and less bass-heavy than earlier Beats over-ears, with strong separation. WIRED, by contrast, criticized a lackluster midrange. Treat sound as a matter to audition if you can, particularly if vocals or midrange detail are priorities; neither account establishes a universal result.

The headphones include ANC and Transparency mode, but launch reviews do not position them as the category’s clear noise-cancelling leader. Tom’s Guide says their ANC trails Bose and Sony flagship headphones. Beats’ claim of up to 1.75 times more combined active and passive noise cancellation than Beats Studio Pro is a manufacturer comparison under its stated IEC 60268-24 test—not evidence that Beats 360 beats Bose, Sony or other rivals in a common head-to-head test. Beats announcement
SoundGuys reports no manual custom EQ and no wired or lossless wired listening. If adjustable EQ or a cable-based listening mode is essential, those omissions narrow the fit.

Battery, charging and wired listening
Beats rates battery life at up to 32 hours even with ANC and Personalized Spatial Audio enabled, and says a five-minute USB-C charge gives up to one hour of playback. These are manufacturer claims, not a guarantee of the same runtime in every listening setup or an independent lab measurement. Actual battery life can vary with use and settings.

The USB-C port is for charging, so a cable does not turn Beats 360 into a wired headphone. WIRED and SoundGuys identify this as a meaningful limitation for listeners who want a wired fallback.

- LOSSLESS AUDIO: Features USB-C connectivity plus three distinct built-in sound profiles to enhance your listening experience
- HEAR WHAT YOU WANT: Two distinct listening modes including fully-adaptive Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) and Transparency mode
- ENHANCED COMPATIBILITY: One-touch pairing and a robust set of native Apple and Android features for seamless connectivity
- PERSONALIZED SPATIAL AUDIO: Dynamic head tracking places you at the center of an immersive 360-degree listening experience
Apple and Android compatibility
Beats describes the headphones as compatible with Apple and Android devices, with different platform features. Apple features include automatic switching, Find My and Personalized Spatial Audio. Android features include Fast Pair, Audio switch, Find Hub, voice assistant support and the Beats app. Some features require compatible hardware and software; Personalized Spatial Audio setup requires an iPhone with TrueDepth and is unavailable on other devices. Beats product specifications
This makes Beats 360 less of a platform-exclusive purchase than some Apple-oriented headphones, but do not assume every feature works identically on both systems. Check the device and software requirements for any specific feature you intend to use.
How Beats 360 compares with premium alternatives
The available reviews offer qualitative comparisons, not controlled common-test results. Use the differences below to identify what to check when trying alternatives such as Beats Studio Pro, Bose or Sony flagships; the evidence does not establish a winner across all categories.

Are Beats 360 worth $350?
At its $349.99 US launch price, Beats 360 makes most sense if you specifically want over-ear headphones for workouts and value the interchangeable cushions, IPX4 resistance and Apple/Android support. Its case for daily commuting is less straightforward: clamp comfort is disputed, its sound receives conflicting assessments, and the ANC has not been shown here to lead Bose or Sony flagships.
Look elsewhere if you need wired listening, a 3.5mm fallback, manual EQ, or a proven cross-brand ANC advantage. The announced cushion-kit promotion was limited to September 22–October 31, 2026, in select markets, so base the accessory decision on current local pricing rather than that expired offer.
