The reported location is a combat trial near the Gloomshade Grove Beacon. The route landmarks below come from a secondary guide; an official map or publisher walkthrough confirming the route was not located.

- Follow the path toward the large dead tree and find the monument surrounded by roots.
- Activate the monument to start the trial.
- Defeat both enemy waves.

The Barrage Stone is a Sidearm Ability Tarstone, not a general-purpose weapon upgrade. It spends Resolve to fire a heavy round that detonates above its target and scatters explosive projectiles below. One guide reports an activation cost of 40 Resolve; treat that as guide-reported rather than independently confirmed for every game build.

The effect can suit a target or area where an overhead burst is useful. How often you can use it depends on your Resolve supply and opportunities to make use of the blast.
Which sidearms can use the Barrage Stone?
The sources name two compatible sidearms:
- Forgotten Crossbow
- Naylshotte
The Tarstones database describes two compatible weapons, while a separate sidearm guide names this pair. The available sources do not establish a controlled performance comparison, so choose based on each weapon’s normal firing pattern, your build’s Resolve availability, and whether you can capitalize on the area burst.

Barrage Stone upgrade levels
A guide describes four tiers, counting the base level. Its clearest reported progression is the number of detonations:

Sources disagree on exact projectile damage, and one guide’s damage table is internally inconsistent. The detonation-count progression is better supported than any precise damage value, so do not rely on a specific damage figure without checking it against your current game build.

How to unlock Tarstone upgrades
The guide says upgrades unlock after you give Franz the Etching Needle at Marrow Keep. It does not establish the material cost for each tier, and the unlock has not been independently verified against the latest build.
