To install AVG Business Antivirus on one Windows PC, first decide whether it will be managed locally or through an AVG Business console. For a locally managed PC, download AVG’s business installer, choose online or offline setup, run it, and activate your subscription. For a managed device, deploy it through the Cloud Console or On-Premise Console instead.
Choose the installation path
| Setup | Use it when | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Unmanaged installation | You want to manage protection on this PC rather than administer it through a console. | Use AVG’s business installer and activate the subscription on the PC. AVG’s unmanaged installation guide. |
| Cloud Console | The PC is an endpoint managed through AVG Business Cloud Console. | Add the endpoint in the console, then send or download and run its installer. AVG’s managed installation guide. |
| On-Premise Console | Your organization manages endpoints with its On-Premise Console. | Use the console’s device-add workflow and select the appropriate EXE or MSI installer. Remote deployment requires additional setup. AVG’s On-Premise device instructions. |
Do not use a consumer AVG installer for a business subscription. The business installation channel and the console workflows are distinct from consumer setup.

Check Windows compatibility first
AVG’s current business requirements list Windows 11 x64 and Windows 10 Pro, Education, and Enterprise in x64 or x86 for the local client, along with supported Windows Server versions. The supported list depends on the device’s role. Check AVG’s business system requirements and local-client requirements for the specific PC before installing.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
If the computer will host the On-Premise Console rather than act only as an endpoint, check the separate On-Premise Console requirements. Meeting the endpoint requirements alone does not establish that the PC can host the console.

Install AVG Business Antivirus without a console
- Open AVG’s official unmanaged installation instructions and obtain the installer for your product and subscription.
- Choose the online installer if the PC can download the required setup files during installation. Choose the offline installer if the PC is isolated or has a slow or limited network connection.
- Copy the installer to the PC if needed, run it, and approve system changes if Windows asks.
- Use the default installation, or select Customize to choose protection components. AVG documents Recommended, Minimal, and Custom protection choices.
- Select Install and wait for setup to finish. Restart the PC if the installer prompts you to do so.
- Activate the subscription using AVG’s subscription-management instructions.
Install an endpoint from Cloud Console
- Set up the Cloud Console and subscription, then add the endpoint through the console workflow. AVG’s Cloud Console quick start covers activation, adding devices, assigning policies and subscriptions, and installing antivirus services.
- Send the installer to the target PC from the console or download it there.
- Double-click the installer and allow it to make changes if Windows requests permission.
- Select Install now and wait for setup to complete.
- Select Close when the installer reports completion. Included services may continue deploying in the background; the client interface becomes available as services and tasks start.
- Check that AVG services or tasks have started. The device is populated in the console after setup and activation complete.
Deploy from On-Premise Console
AVG’s On-Premise device instructions describe EXE installers for workstations and servers, and MSI installers for deployment through Group Policy. For remote deployment, AVG lists additional prerequisites, including a Master Agent, network access, and suitable domain credentials. Review the console’s current requirements and firewall guidance before attempting remote deployment.

The name “AVG Business Edition” also appears in an older AVG Network Edition manual. That manual describes a legacy Remote Administration setup involving AVG Admin Server, AVG Data Center, AVG Admin Console, license entry, and a deployment wizard. Those screens and requirements are not the current Business Antivirus installation flow. Use that manual only if you are specifically installing the older product version; the current business installation guidance and console instructions apply to current setups.

Fix common installation mistakes
- Wrong installer: Make sure you are using the business installer for your subscription, not a consumer installer.
- Wrong management path: A locally managed PC, a Cloud Console endpoint, and an On-Premise endpoint have different workflows. Start with the path that matches how the device will be administered.
- Network mismatch: The online installer downloads files during setup; use the offline package for an isolated or constrained connection.
- Compatibility assumption: Confirm requirements for the device’s actual role, especially when distinguishing an endpoint from a console host.
- Setup window closed but deployment still running: For a Cloud Console endpoint, included services may continue deploying after the installer closes. Check that services and tasks have started before treating setup as complete.
- Legacy screens do not match: The old Remote Administration manual describes a different architecture; do not apply its steps to current Business Console installation.
