But the advertised A$70-a-night figure is not confirmed as a cabin rate: the headline’s accommodation type and booking conditions could not be verified. A date-specific check of the resort’s booking page showed a sharp difference between campsite and cabin prices.
Which property has the award-winning pool?
Discovery Resorts – Lake Argyle is a remote resort near Lake Argyle in the East Kimberley. Its 35-metre infinity pool received the Australia’s Best Hotel Pool award in the 2025 Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Southeast Asia. Time Out Australia also placed it first on its 2025 list of Australian hotel pools. Those are the award and ranking results for 2025, not proof of a permanent or objectively measurable national title. Discovery Resorts’ property page and Time Out Australia’s 2025 list describe the award and result.
What does “$70 a night” get you?
The Age’s October 2, 2026 search-result headline quoted a stay for A$70 a night, but the accessible article did not establish the accommodation type, dates, occupancy or conditions behind that figure. It should not be treated as a guaranteed current cabin price or a year-round rate. The Age headline identifies the property, but its specific price basis remains unconfirmed.
The operator’s booking page produced a useful comparison for October 3–4, 2026, for two adults: unpowered sites started at A$43, powered pitches at A$59 before displayed member prices, and the lowest displayed cabin option was A$293. These were search results for those dates and guests, not stable tariffs. The difference suggests a headline near A$70 may refer to an entry-level site or a special rate, but the exact basis cannot be confirmed. Check your dates, accommodation type, occupancy, member pricing and cancellation terms before booking. The resort booking page provides live availability and rates.

Camping and cabins are different kinds of stay
The resort has powered and unpowered sites alongside standard and deluxe cabins, including lake-view options. A campsite rate does not mean a cabin beside the pool costs the same amount. When comparing options, check what the rate includes, the facilities you need and the applicable pool terms: the operator says pool access is at a cost, and the pool is open to the public. Confirm current access charges and conditions directly before planning around a swim. The resort describes April to September as its peak-demand period and advises booking ahead then. The property page lists accommodation and visitor information.
Plan for a remote East Kimberley location
Lake Argyle is reached by a sealed road 35 km off Victoria Highway. Although the road is sealed, the distance from the highway makes this a trip to plan rather than an incidental stop: consider fuel, supplies and travel timing before setting out. The operator’s visitor guide recommends a wide-brim hat for UV protection on a self-drive trip. Activities include cruises and outdoor experiences, but availability and terms should be checked with the resort. Discovery Resorts’ location and property details cover access and facilities.
