The AudioSolutions Figaro M2 is a large, customizable three-way floorstander with strong published sensitivity and bass reach, but its measured low-impedance behavior makes amplifier compatibility a more important buying check than the nominal 4-ohm label suggests. Reviewer impressions are favorable, though they describe individual rooms and samples rather than a controlled comparison.

The manufacturer says the Mini-Horn loading is intended to manage soft-dome behavior at high levels. It also describes a Cabinet-in-a-Cabinet construction: inner and outer cabinets bonded with a thin polyurethane layer. Those explanations describe design intent, not independent proof that distortion or resonance is eliminated. [AudioSolutions]
Hi-Fi News describes a reflex-loaded cabinet with two rear ports and separate enclosures for the midrange and tweeter. That matters when planning placement: the ports are at the back, even though one reviewer’s room-specific experience suggests the speakers can work relatively close to a wall. [Hi-Fi News]

How does the Figaro M2 sound in published reviews?
Impressions vary by room and reviewer
What Hi-Fi?/Australian Hi-Fi praised the speaker’s sound and efficiency, while also identifying low impedance as a drawback. Its reviewer reported that bass worked well both close to a rear wall and farther into the room, including with the base flush to the skirting board in that specific listening room. That is useful evidence that close placement may be possible, not a guarantee for every room or boundary. [What Hi-Fi?/Australian Hi-Fi]
Hi-Fi News characterized the presentation as smooth and inviting, with an easy-going rather than immediately showy bass or treble balance. The review also noted good scale and detail, plus a subtle tonal difference between its two review samples. [Hi-Fi News]

The reviews support a picture of a speaker that can produce substantial bass and a spacious, composed presentation. They do not establish a universal tonal preference, a measured improvement from optional feet, or predictable bass response in every room. Listening in your own space, where possible, remains the most direct way to judge whether its balance suits you.

What do the measurements say about bass and amplifier matching?
The impedance deserves more attention than the 4-ohm rating alone
AudioSolutions specifies nominal 4-ohm impedance and suggests amplifiers from 10 to 300 W. Hi-Fi News’s laboratory report measured impedance minima of 2.4 ohms at 123 Hz and 2.4 ohms at 2.06 kHz, with an EPDR minimum of 1.1 ohms between 80 and 100 Hz. The report says impedance remains below 8 ohms from 60 Hz to 20 kHz and records a -53-degree phase angle at 67 Hz. [Hi-Fi News laboratory report]
In practical terms, the M2 can present a demanding load, particularly in the bass region. Choose an amplifier whose manufacturer specifies stable operation into low impedances, and consider the room size and listening level as well as the speaker’s sensitivity. The 10–300 W suggested range is not a guarantee that every amplifier within it will be suitable in every system. If unsure, ask the amplifier maker or an authorized dealer to confirm compatibility with the M2’s measured load.

Two bass-extension figures describe different conditions
AudioSolutions rates the M2 for 30–25,000 Hz in-room. Hi-Fi News measured low-frequency extension at 36 Hz at -6 dB relative to 200 Hz using its corrected laboratory measurement; it also reported rear ports tuned to 28 Hz. The manufacturer’s in-room rating and the lab result use different conditions, so they should not be treated as interchangeable figures or as a direct contradiction. Sample consistency was not perfect
Hi-Fi News reported individual response errors of ±2.5 dB and ±2.6 dB, along with a 5.7 dB pair mismatch across the specified top-octave portion of the midrange bandwidth. That result is a measured difference between the review samples, not evidence that every production pair will show the same mismatch. If precise channel matching is a priority, ask the dealer about sample matching or return terms before ordering. [Hi-Fi News laboratory report]

How much does the Figaro M2 cost, and what can be customized?
Published prices are market- and configuration-specific. These are dated references, not a single current global price:
| Source and market | Reported price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Home Theater HiFi, US, September 2026 | $16,500 per pair at base; $18,900 for the review pair | The review pair was custom ordered with a custom finish, trim, and Gaia II feet; the configured price is for that pair. |
| Hi-Fi News, UK, February 2026 | From £9,750 | Starting price reported by the publication. |
| Elite Audio UK, listing accessed October 7, 2026 | £10,900 displayed | Retailer-listed price, which may change. |
Check a local authorized dealer for a current quote, because finish, trim, accessories, market, and date can change the total. [Home Theater HiFi] [Hi-Fi News] [Elite Audio UK]
Hi-Fi News reported more than 500,000 possible configurations, a publication-reported count rather than an independently audited total. Customization includes finishes and trim; review and retailer materials also show optional isolation feet. Treat feet as an option to discuss for your setup, not a requirement. Hi-Fi News reported a UK distributor estimate of about one month for a custom build in its 2026 review; that is a dated estimate, not a current delivery promise. The M2 may suit you if
- You want a substantial floorstander and have space for a cabinet measuring 1,108 × 272 × 472 mm without outriggers.
- You value configurable finishes and trim and are willing to confirm the resulting price and delivery estimate.
- Your amplifier is explicitly comfortable with low-impedance loads, and you can audition the speakers or otherwise assess their sound in your room.
Pause and check these points before buying
- Amplifier compatibility: verify low-impedance capability rather than relying only on the 4-ohm nominal rating or suggested wattage range.
- Placement: allow for the rear ports and account for your room; one reviewer’s close-wall result does not predict every room’s bass response.
- Configuration: compare the exact finish, trim, feet, and other options on the quote, and confirm local price and lead time.
- Pair matching: if channel-to-channel consistency is important, ask the dealer what matching or return options are available.
How does it compare within the Figaro range?
Hi-Fi News identifies the S2 as a smaller floorstander and the L2, XLM2, and XL2 as larger floorstanders. That makes room scale and cabinet size a sensible starting point for an in-family comparison; the M2 is not automatically the right choice just because it sits between smaller and larger models. The cited material does not establish a like-for-like current price comparison across the range, so request current local quotes and compare dimensions, driver complement, and configured price before deciding.
