No. In a September 28, 2026 post, ATLOCK developer Akhouri Anmol Kumar stated: “ATLOCK v5 is still under development. It has NOT been publicly released yet.” The post describes v4 as the current public release. Until v5 is released, its planned features and hardware needs should not be treated as final product specifications.

Does v5 require a PC upgrade?
The developer material reviewed does not list a minimum CPU, memory, graphics, storage, or TPM specification for v5, nor does it provide hardware compatibility testing. The developer says development took place on an HP 240 G9, but that machine is not a published minimum or proof that computers with similar specifications will work. The accurate conclusion is that no hardware upgrade requirement is documented; universal compatibility has not been established.

There is no published performance comparison to use for predicting how v5 might run on a particular PC. Kumar wrote, “The actual performance benchmark is still something I want to publish properly.” The developer’s post reports no controlled benchmark results, so it supports no substantiated performance percentage or other benchmark figure.

What should you make of the security features?
Named cryptographic algorithms and a longer feature list describe design choices; on their own, they do not prove that a product is secure. The developer’s post identifies limits including application-layer risks and the difficulty of reliably erasing secrets in Python. It also says v5 has not received an independent security audit comparable to established products.

Should you keep using v4 or wait for v5?
Use v4 if you need an available release
V4 is the version the developer describes as publicly available. Decide whether its described lockdown, File Guard, vault, and response features fit your needs, and review the project’s current release information before installing or relying on it.
Wait if you specifically need v5’s planned capabilities
Features such as Windows Hello, FIDO2/WebAuthn, TOTP, TPM-backed wrapping, and the proposed recovery architecture are not confirmed as available in a public release. Reassess only after v5 ships and its actual system requirements, compatibility, migration steps, and security evidence are available.

Do not buy hardware based on the current description
The material does not establish that you need a faster processor, more memory, a TPM, or a security key. A security key is a possible optional accessory for planned v5 authentication, not a stated PC requirement and not a requirement for v4.
