Choose the Logitech G Astro A50 X if you regularly switch among Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC and want console video and audio routed through one base station. Choose the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless if active noise cancellation (ANC) and a swappable-battery system matter more. For Xbox, make sure you select the Nova Pro Wireless Xbox variant: SteelSeries says only that version has a dedicated Xbox port.

| Sound preference | No universal winner | RTINGS’ June 2026 comparison gives the A50 X a slight overall edge for wireless gaming and describes its sound as more balanced, but individual preference can differ. RTINGS |
Why choose the Astro A50 X?
It is built around switching between consoles
Logitech documents HDMI 2.1 connections for Xbox Series X|S and PS5, alongside USB-C connectivity for PC or Mac. Logitech says a button on the headset switches among Xbox, PS5, and PC. That arrangement makes the A50 X the more straightforward match when several of those systems are part of one gaming setup. Logitech G’s product page lists the connections and advertised features.

Check your video chain before connecting it
Logitech advertises 4K 120 Hz passthrough and Game/Chat mixing. Because the console’s video signal passes through the base station on this setup, check your display’s inputs, the rest of your HDMI chain, and the cables you need before relying on it. The advertised passthrough specification is a manufacturer claim; it does not establish that every display and cable arrangement will work without checking compatibility.

Why choose the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless?
ANC and battery swapping are the stronger reasons
RTINGS lists ANC among the Nova Pro Wireless’s features. Its battery-swapping system also suits players who prefer to keep a charged battery ready rather than manage headset charging in the same way as a fixed-battery design. These features make the Nova Pro Wireless a better fit when those conveniences outweigh the A50 X’s console-routing advantage.
#1 Best Overall
- PLAYSYNC Simultaneous Multi-System: Xbox + PS5 + Switch/Switch 2+ PC all at once. Stay connected to all your platforms and switch AUDIO & VIDEO between them with on-ear control
- PRO-G GRAPHENE Audio Drivers: Groundbreaking clarity and response for precise audio separation, location, and timing accuracy (40 mm diameter)
- Pro-grade LIGHTSPEED Wireless: Ultra high-performance, end-to-end technology for responsive and immersive gaming audio free from wires
- State-of-the-art HDMI 2.1 Passthru: Delivers Ultra HD resolution for the highest levels of console audio (24 bit) and visual fidelity (4K 120 Hz)
- Broadcast-quality Mic: Sound like a pro; 48 kHz full-bandwidth LIGHTSPEED mic uplink achieves new levels in wireless boom mic quality
Check the exact platform variant
SteelSeries says every Nova Pro Wireless version has two direct USB system connections. The flexible second port supports PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Switch, and Mac; only the Xbox version has a dedicated Xbox port. If Xbox is part of your setup, verify the product listing identifies the Xbox version rather than assuming the PlayStation version has the same connections. The SteelSeries compatibility guide explains the port difference.
Which sounds better?
RTINGS’ direct comparison, updated June 23–24, 2026, with Test Bench 2.3, rates the A50 X as “ever so slightly better” overall for wireless gaming. It points to more balanced sound and controlled mid-range. That is RTINGS’ test-based conclusion, not a guarantee that every listener will prefer the A50 X; sound preference alone is not enough to make either headset a universal winner. Which is better for Xbox?
Both can suit Xbox, but the surrounding setup changes the recommendation. Pick the A50 X if you often move between Xbox, PS5, and PC and want the base station to handle those connections. Consider the Nova Pro Wireless Xbox variant if ANC and battery swapping are higher priorities; its dedicated Xbox port is specific to that version. GamesRadar’s September 22, 2026, editorial recommendation also favors considering the A50 X for frequent multi-platform switching. GamesRadar’s Xbox headset guide.
