If YouTube audio is out of sync, first find out whether the problem affects one video or several, and whether it happens in other apps or through another audio output. Then follow instructions for the route you actually use—Chrome casting, Google TV Streamer, or your TV’s sound settings. The available Astra documentation describes a Jellyfin client for Fire TV running Vega OS; it does not establish that Astra supports YouTube or provide an Astra-specific YouTube sync fix.
Start by isolating the YouTube audio delay
- Replay the same passage and note whether the sound is ahead of the picture or behind it. Also note whether the offset stays constant or changes.
- Check another YouTube video. If only one video or channel is affected, the issue may be specific to that source.
- Try another app and, if available, switch between the TV’s speakers and a connected soundbar or receiver. This helps distinguish a YouTube or playback-route problem from one affecting the wider audio chain.
- Before changing a global TV or sound-system setting, identify how YouTube reaches the screen: a native app, Chrome casting, or an external streamer. Use the matching instructions below, and consult the device manual if your menu names differ.
LG says a sync problem limited to a particular channel is highly likely to involve that channel’s broadcast signal. That guidance concerns TV channels; it does not establish the cause of a problem with a specific YouTube video.

If you cast YouTube from Chrome
Google’s guidance here is specifically for content cast from Chrome. Restart the cast path before changing TV audio settings:

- Close the Chrome tab, reopen it, and load the same content again.
- Close computer applications that are draining battery or using substantial resources, then cast again.
- Keep the computer, Wi-Fi router, and Google streaming device within 5–6 metres (15–20 feet) of one another, ideally in the same room.
- Restart the Google streaming device by disconnecting its power for about one minute. Removing it from the TV’s HDMI port does not reboot it.
If the delay remains, test another video and another audio output before changing a broader setting.

If you use a Google TV Streamer
Google’s device-specific guidance recommends checking the complete audio chain. These directions apply to Google TV Streamer, not to Astra or every device that can play YouTube.
- Check the HDMI cable and the eARC arrangement between the streamer, TV, and any connected audio equipment.
- Restart the streamer. If needed, reboot the router as well.
- Look for an audio-offset adjustment on the TV, receiver, or soundbar.
- Set the streamer’s audio output format to Automatic. Google cautions that manually selecting Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital, or PCM stereo requires compatible connected equipment.
- Turn off Dialogue enhancement and Volume leveller, then test with surround sound disabled.
Google specifies an Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 certified cable for its Google TV Streamer setup. Check the cable, its condition, and whether the connected equipment supports the intended setup before considering a replacement; this is not a general-purpose YouTube lip-sync fix.

If the TV’s speakers or sound system are out of sync
Samsung TVs
For supported Samsung TVs, Samsung UK lists Settings > Sound > Expert Settings > Digital Output Audio Delay. If sound is faster than the picture, its instructions say to move the slider right to increase the delay. Menu labels can vary by model and software version. Samsung also advises checking supported codecs and software updates, and notes that wireless streaming may introduce sync delays.

LG says applicability varies by model; its eARC/ARC guidance is limited to TV speakers or supported Sound Share devices. Check the TV manual for the controls available on your setup.
Retest before keeping an audio adjustment
After a setting change, replay the same passage. Then check another video or app using the same audio output. Keep a global adjustment only if it corrects the mismatch without creating a new one elsewhere. If the problem returns only on one source or route, use that distinction to narrow the next check rather than repeatedly changing the TV’s overall delay.

What the Astra documentation does—and does not—confirm
The Astra help page located for this topic describes Astra 1.4.0 on Fire TV running Vega OS 1.2 or later as a client for a Jellyfin server. It documents media playback settings, but does not establish YouTube support or describe an Astra-specific YouTube audio-sync repair. Because “Astra Streaming” alone does not identify the device, app, or playback route, do not apply another manufacturer’s menu path as though it were an Astra setting.
