If private-repository eligibility or team size determines your choice, confirm those terms with Argos before purchasing.

Pro’s starting price is not an all-in cap: usage beyond its included screenshots can add charges. Does Argos charge per seat, and are private repositories included?
Argos describes its pricing as “Pricing that scales with usage, not seats.” The public pricing information does not, however, specify a per-seat fee, a maximum number of team members, or a definitive private-repository allowance by plan. Hobby is described as intended for personal projects, while Pro adds team collaboration and reviews; those descriptions do not establish private-repository eligibility or unlimited seats.

Estimate the monthly cost for your screenshot volume
Start with the expected number of screenshots each month and distinguish Storybook screenshots from other screenshots. Pro starts at $100 per month and includes 35,000 screenshots. The published rates for extra usage are $0.004 per additional screenshot and $0.0015 per additional Storybook screenshot. Confirm how Argos classifies your usage and how the rates apply to your account before relying on an estimate.
- Count expected monthly screenshots and identify the Storybook portion.
- Compare that total with Pro’s 35,000 included screenshots.
- For usage above the allowance, apply the relevant published overage rate; do not assume the $100 starting price caps the bill.
- Include any needed SSO add-ons and verify private-repository and seat terms with Argos.
- If you need Enterprise features or a custom screenshot allowance, request a quote; no public Enterprise price is stated.
Argos’s Terms of Service say paid self-service subscriptions are billed at the price and billing period shown at purchase, renew automatically unless otherwise stated, and remain active through the end of the current paid billing period after cancellation. They also allow additional usage charges at pricing-page rates or rates agreed at purchase, and say prices exclude taxes unless expressly stated otherwise. Read the Argos Terms of Service and the checkout terms for your subscription.

SSO, deployment access, and Enterprise considerations
For Pro, the pricing page lists optional GitHub SSO at $50 per month and SAML SSO at $200 per month. The latter was announced for Pro on July 21, 2026; Enterprise includes SAML SSO. Enterprise is custom priced and also lists fine-grained access control, dedicated support, custom screenshot volume, and a 99.99% uptime SLA.
Deployment access controls are separate from repository privacy. Argos says previews can require an Argos login on every plan, while Team plans can require login for all deployments, including production. That controls who can access deployed previews or sites; it does not answer whether a plan supports a private source repository or how seats are billed. Argos deployment protection.

How to decide which plan fits
- Hobby: Consider it for personal projects that fit within the listed 5,000-screenshot allowance, but verify private-repository eligibility if relevant.
- Pro: Consider it when you need the published team collaboration and review features. Budget for screenshot overages and any SSO add-ons, and confirm seat and private-repository policies.
- Enterprise: Request a quote if you need a custom screenshot allowance, fine-grained access control, dedicated support, SAML SSO, or the listed SLA.
Base price alone is not enough to compare plans: expected usage, Storybook share, collaboration needs, SSO, access controls, and confirmed repository and seat policies all affect the decision.
How the published prices compare with other visual-testing tools
In an August 11, 2026 article, Argos reported that figures it checked in July 2026 were $100 per month for Argos Pro with 35,000 screenshots, $179 per month for Chromatic with 35,000 snapshots, and a $599-per-month cheapest advertised Percy tier; it said Applitools published no prices. These are vendor-reported, dated competitor figures, not an independent current price survey. Recheck each vendor’s pricing before comparing or buying. Argos’s August 2026 pricing comparison.

ScreenshotNeo as an alternative for screenshot capture
If your immediate need is capturing website screenshots rather than choosing a visual-regression testing plan, ScreenshotNeo is a separate screenshot API and MCP server for developers. It is not a substitute for Argos CI’s documented collaboration and review workflow. Its plans include 1,000 shots per month free with no card, followed by paid plans starting at $5 for 3,000; every feature is on every plan.
For a simple website capture, its API uses one GET request. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options and response details:

ScreenshotNeo’s clean-shot flow accepts cookie or consent banners like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each step can be disabled. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, with response headers indicating the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides screenshot, page-info, and PDF-capture tools for AI agents. Sign up free for 1,000 screenshots a month with no card.
