Before you start: bring a camera
Take an in-game camera with you before entering the quest route. The first objective is to photograph the Emperor’s leg near Old Town; without the camera, you cannot complete that photo step on the run.

Follow the route in the right order
1. Photograph the Emperor’s leg near Old Town
Go to the Emperor’s leg near Old Town and take the requested photo. The GamesRadar+ walkthrough includes map images for its route, but its text does not provide readable coordinates, so use the in-game objective marker and the landmark rather than relying on an exact coordinate.

2. Decide whether to search for the optional probe
After the photo, the quest has two follow-up paths. If you want the optional probe objective, search for the probe before moving on to the exposed-area analysis. The walkthrough warns that completing the analysis closes the probe objective. It does not establish the probe’s exact location; the guide’s author says he did not find it during his run.

Skipping the probe lets you continue the main route, but the guide gives no estimate of the extra time or danger involved in searching for it. Decide based on whether the optional objective is worth exploring for during this run.
3. Analyze the exposed area near Railroad Junction
Go to the Emperor’s leg near Railroad Junction, where the leg touches down. Climb onto the indicated part of the leg and interact when the analysis prompt appears. The prompt can be easy to miss, so check the nearby leg surface if you reach the area but do not immediately see it.
4. Search the buried payload at the base
Reach the marked base area to unlock Search the Buried Payload. Look for an elongated box partly buried in snow and wreckage, then search it to collect the ARC Conductive Coupler.

Leave the map with the ARC Conductive Coupler in your inventory, then return it to Celeste to complete the quest. If you are defeated before extracting, the walkthrough does not establish whether the Coupler is retained, so plan the return around getting out safely.
Reported turn-in rewards
GamesRadar+’s October 8, 2026 walkthrough reports these rewards for turning in the Coupler. They are guide-reported game details, not independently confirmed against official quest data.

What the route details do—and do not—confirm
The walkthrough identifies the Old Town photo area, the Railroad Junction analysis point, and the buried payload at the Emperor’s base, but its text does not supply exact coordinates or the probe’s position. Its map images are credited to Embark Studios. The quest steps and rewards here follow Leon Hurley’s GamesRadar+ walkthrough, published October 8, 2026; it is a secondary guide rather than official game documentation.
