VidBee is a free, open-source desktop app for downloading online video and creating searchable transcripts locally. It runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux without requiring an account. Downloads work with more than 1,000 sites, including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, and Bilibili, and can reach 8K quality. Output options include MP4, MKV, WebM, M4A, MP3, Opus, and SRT. Playlist, subtitle, and batch downloads are supported, with subtitle choices in more than 50 languages. On-device transcription uses Whisper across more than 100 languages, separates speakers, allows speaker renaming, and supports speaker-specific navigation. VidBee says downloads, transcripts, speech, and files remain on the device. AI connections can use selected providers, API keys, Ollama, LM Studio, or custom endpoints. Cloud credits are one-time purchases: Starter costs 5.00 USD per once, Popular 10.00 USD per once, and Power 15.00 USD per once. New Cloud accounts receive 50K credits that expire after six months.
