What TopPlan is

TopPlan is a free, open-source daily planner and Markdown task manager for 64-bit Windows 10 and later. It stores plans and notes locally, requiring no account or cloud service, and works directly with existing Markdown files rather than moving them into a database. You can use a main TopPlan.md file or dated workday files named YYYY-MM-DD.md. Unfinished tasks roll over according to workday rules that include Chinese statutory holidays and adjusted workdays. The editor has rich-text and source Markdown modes with task lists, timestamps, links, code blocks, and local images. Quick notes stay in per-day files that can be browsed by day, week, or month, searched, and edited in place. An always-on-top frameless window provides mini notes, opacity controls, and optional mouse click-through. Optional AI polishing and summaries connect to an OpenAI-compatible API. Selected text and images are sent to that service by default, while the API key is stored in plain text locally.
