Tilix

What Tilix is
Tilix is a free GTK3 tiling terminal emulator for Linux that follows the GNOME Human Interface Guidelines. Users can split terminals horizontally or vertically, then drag them within or between windows. Groups of terminals can be saved to disk and loaded later. Tilix supports SSH, session synchronization and command-line actions that control a running instance, such as splitting a terminal. Regular expressions can define custom links and actions, while profiles can change automatically when conditions such as a user change, a host connection or entry into a sensitive directory occur. Quake mode displays a terminal at the top of the screen when a key is pressed. Tilix can notify the desktop when a long-running process ends while the app is hidden, but this requires a VTE widget patched by Fedora. Some Linux distributions, including Ubuntu, may need manual VTE configuration for optimal operation. The project does not provide an official 32-bit version or official testing and support for 32-bit platforms. The site lists Tilix 1.8.7, dated January 2, 2019, as its latest release.
