What Sutori is

Sutori is a web-based timeline tool for K–12 history and social studies classrooms. Educators can build presentations from templates or start with a blank story, then add text, media, quizzes and polls. Stories support multimedia and interactive activities, and can be turned into PowerPoint presentations. People can work together on a story in real time, with its creator able to invite unlimited collaborators. Sutori connects with Google Classroom and Microsoft 365, and supports learning management systems that use LTI, including Blackboard, Canvas, D2L, PowerSchool, Moodle and Schoology. When students first open Sutori through an integrated LMS, the service creates their accounts automatically. The free Essential plan permits unlimited presentations, but creation is limited to text and image items. New users receive a 30-day trial of Sutori Unlimited before moving to the free plan; educators can extend the trial by another 30 days by inviting three fellow educators. Sutori says its service complies with COPPA and GDPR. For LMS access, it stores users’ email address, name, profile picture, role and LMS user ID. Stripe handles credit card data, which Sutori says it does not receive or store on its servers.

Sutori suits K–12 history and social studies educators who want students to build and present timeline-based stories with text, media and interactive activities. Its real-time collaboration, classroom integrations and LTI support also fit educators who use Google Classroom, Microsoft 365 or a supported LMS.

The free Essential plan allows unlimited presentations but only text and image items. New users receive a 30-day trial of Sutori Unlimited before moving to Essential; educators can extend it by 30 days by inviting three fellow educators.

Getting started

1. Visit the Sutori website and start a new user account.
2. Use the 30-day Sutori Unlimited trial, or continue with the free Essential plan.
3. Create a presentation from a template or start from scratch.
4. Add text, media, quizzes or polls to a story.
5. Invite collaborators or connect through Google Classroom, Microsoft 365 or an LTI-based LMS.

Choose Sutori if you need a classroom timeline tool with collaborative story building, interactive content and LMS connections. The free plan supports unlimited presentations but limits creation to text and image items; the 30-day Unlimited trial provides a period to use that plan before moving to Essential.
