Instead of RECAP
RECAP alternatives
RECAP is designed for work with PACER and U.S. federal court records. Its browser extension can add purchased documents to a searchable archive, where users can access documents contributed by others for free. Case and saved-search alerts can flag new filings or search matches, and the archive is also available through an API or as bulk data. RECAP includes case law and docket search, citation tools, and extension, iOS, and web access. The extension is free, but PACER may still charge for documents, and paid plans start at $10 per user per month.

That federal focus may not fit research centered on another jurisdiction, statutes and regulations, or wider legal collections. RECAP does not offer statute and regulation search, and the extension is not available for every platform. Alternatives range from free public legal databases to tools with document analysis, docket analytics, or broader collections. Compare the jurisdiction and material each covers, the search and alert functions you need, platform access, and any subscription cost before switching.
