What MacStorageAtlas is

MacStorageAtlas, also called Atlas Storage Analyzer, is a free, open-source macOS app for examining disk usage. It scans folders and volumes and presents results as a sortable folder tree and interactive treemap. File-type statistics and a largest-files view show counts, sizes, and full paths. During scans, the app displays paths, file and folder counts, and bytes scanned; you can cancel and keep partial results visible. Optional duplicate analysis checks byte-for-byte matches and skips known cloud-only placeholders. Completed scans can be filtered by size, dates, extension, file category, and shared storage, then exported as CSV or JSON. Scan history is optional and off until enabled; snapshots remain on the Mac without file contents. Reviewed eligible items can be moved to macOS Trash, while broad or sensitive containers are blocked. Cleanup baskets can be moved or copied to external or network volumes, with destination-name collisions blocked. Builds support Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. The Free plan costs nothing.
