Instead of Algo VPN
Algo VPN alternatives
Algo VPN is a free, open-source toolkit for building a personal WireGuard and IPsec VPN. Its Ansible scripts support deployment across a range of cloud providers or an advanced user’s Ubuntu server, and generate client configurations, QR codes, and Apple profiles. Administrators can add and remove users, while optional DNS ad blocking and limited SSH tunneling expand the setup. Algo uses secure defaults and rotates and deletes logs after seven days, though cloud providers may still see traffic metadata.

The tradeoff is that Algo gives you setup scripts, not a managed service: you handle deployment and server infrastructure, and cloud costs are separate. Its local installation guide warns that it overwrites firewall rules and has no uninstall option. It also does not claim anonymity or censorship avoidance, and excludes L2TP, IKEv1, and RSA. Alternatives may suit you better if you want centrally managed access, identity and device checks, or peer-to-peer networking.
