What Adobe Substance 3D Modeler is

Adobe Substance 3D Modeler is a desktop and VR application for 3D modeling and sculpting. Digital-clay tools support building, smoothing, and shaping organic forms, while parametric shapes and add-or-cut primitives support hard-surface work. A built-in render engine and 3D-print export are included. Adobe says desktop workflows can achieve everything available in VR, so a headset is optional. Modeler imports and exports SMOD, FBX, OBJ, GLTF/GLB, USD, STL, and VDB, and imports IGS, JT, and STEP/STP. It supports Windows 11 64-bit with minimum requirements of 16GB RAM, 8GB VRAM, and 30GB of SSD space; macOS and Linux are not supported. Headsets must connect to a computer by high-speed Wi-Fi or a compatible cable and cannot run the application alone. The Substance 3D Collection for individuals costs $59.99 a month and includes all apps, 100GB cloud storage, and a 30-day free trial. A free public beta requires an Adobe account, but its stability and saved files are not guaranteed.
