The $799 MacBook Air deal, at a glance
| Retailer | Model | Configuration | Reported price | Reported saving | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| BrandsMart USA | 13-inch MacBook Air (M4) | 8-core GPU, 16GB unified memory, 256GB SSD, Silver | $799 | $200 (about 20%) | Reported June 9, 2025; verify availability |
| Amazon | 13-inch MacBook Air (M4) | 16GB unified memory, 256GB SSD; four colors reported | $849 | $150 | Reported June 9, 2025; verify seller and stock |
The percentage is calculated from the $999 starting price: $200 ÷ $999 × 100 = 20.02%, conventionally rounded to 20%. The discount applies to this entry-level 13-inch configuration, not every 2025 MacBook Air.
AppleInsider described $799 as an all-time-best price for the 13-inch M4 at the time of its report, while Tom’s Hardware independently characterized it as an unusually strong laptop deal. These are historical assessments, not a guarantee of the lowest price available today.

The 15-inch M3 listing was reported through Amazon or B&H. Because it is a previous-generation machine, compare its complete memory, storage, condition, warranty and return terms with newer M4 stock rather than judging by the chip name alone.

Which MacBook Air configuration fits you?
Choose the 13-inch M4 for portability and value
- Best for students, commuters and frequent travelers.
- The lowest reported price was attached to this size.
- It suits browsing, office work, streaming, schoolwork and light creative tasks.
Choose 512GB when local storage matters
The $799 configuration has a 256GB SSD. That can work for documents, cloud storage and light photo use, but 512GB or more is safer for large photo libraries, video projects, games, virtual machines, developer toolchains or extensive offline media.
Choose 24GB memory for demanding workflows
Sixteen gigabytes of unified memory is the base specification reported for the deal and is suitable for ordinary multitasking. Large creative projects, development environments and multiple virtual machines can justify 24GB, although the higher-memory models did not retain the same 20% headline saving.

Choose the 15-inch M4 for screen area
The larger model is useful for split-screen work, spreadsheets and timelines when portability is less important. The June 2025 list included several 15-inch M4 configurations, each costing more than the headline 13-inch deal.
Consider the 15-inch M3 only when the configuration wins
The reported $1,299 M3 model paired a larger display with 24GB memory and 512GB storage. It can be compelling if that combination is substantially cheaper than an equivalent M4, but confirm that it is new, check remaining stock and verify warranty coverage.

- Open the live retailer page. The June 9, 2025 report is not proof of current inventory. A later BrandsMart crawl showed a base 13-inch M4 around $979, illustrating how quickly prices change. See BrandsMart’s Apple computer listings.
- Match every specification: screen size, M4 or M3 generation, GPU description, memory, SSD capacity, color, keyboard layout and exact model or part number.
- Confirm condition and seller. Distinguish retailer-sold new stock from marketplace, open-box, refurbished or used units.
- Read return and warranty terms. Check the return window, restocking fees and Apple warranty eligibility before checkout.
- Calculate the delivered total. Sales tax, shipping, regional restrictions, membership requirements, financing terms and promotional codes can change the final cost.
Where to look for current inventory
| Retailer | Why consider it | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Apple | Direct support, customization, education pricing and trade-in options | Whether the direct price beats third-party stock |
| Amazon | Broad inventory and frequent markdowns | Seller identity, condition, warranty and return terms |
| BrandsMart USA | Regional clearance pricing, especially in the southeastern United States | Regional availability and whether the price is current |
| B&H Photo Video | Reputable electronics retailer and configuration-specific clearance | Stock status and whether an older M3 is priced close to newer M4 stock |
Bottom line for buyers
$799 was an excellent June 2025 price for the base 13-inch M4 MacBook Air: 16GB memory, 256GB storage and an 8-core GPU. It was not a universal 20% discount across the MacBook Air range, and the historical price should not be treated as a live October 2026 offer. Buy that configuration when a current listing is meaningfully below the prevailing street price and 256GB meets your needs; pay for 512GB, 24GB or a 15-inch display only when those upgrades solve a real requirement.
