Apple was reported to plan Brazilian preorders for the entire iPhone 14 family on Friday, October 7, 2022. However, that date should not be confused with a confirmed nationwide retail launch: Apple’s Brazilian newsroom later listed October 28, 2022, for iPhone 14 Plus store availability. The October 7 report came from MacMagazine, while Apple’s official materials described different dates by market and model.
What October 7 actually meant
MacMagazine reported on September 28, 2022—later marking the report as confirmed—that Brazilian preorders for the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max would open on October 7. Its report is the source for the four-model Brazilian preorder schedule: MacMagazine’s September 28 report.
That is different from saying every model would ship or appear in Brazilian stores on October 7. A preorder is an order window; the seller’s promised dispatch, delivery and in-store date can be later and can vary by configuration or sales channel.
Apple’s official timeline
Apple announced the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus on September 7, 2022. In its initial announcement, Apple said preorders would begin September 9 in numerous first-wave countries, with iPhone 14 availability from September 16. Brazil was not explicitly included in that initial September 9 list. The iPhone 14 Plus was scheduled for October 7 in those first-wave markets. Configurations and key features
iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus
Apple listed 128GB, 256GB and 512GB capacities in Midnight, Blue, Starlight, Purple and PRODUCT(RED). The two models introduced 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays, updated dual-camera systems, Photonic Engine processing, an improved front TrueDepth camera, Crash Detection, 5G, iOS 16 and an A15 Bionic chip with a five-core GPU.
Rank #4
- 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display featuring Always-On & ProMotion.
The Plus was the larger-screen option and was advertised as offering the longest battery life Apple had claimed for an iPhone at that time. The announcement’s full specifications are available at Apple’s product release. A listed capacity or color does not guarantee that every combination was in stock for immediate Brazilian preorder.
Pro models
The Pro and Pro Max were the higher-priced choices for customers seeking Apple’s Pro camera system, premium display features and the newer high-end processor generation. The October 7 four-model claim comes from MacMagazine, not from an official Apple page identified here.

Satellite Emergency SOS
Apple announced Emergency SOS via satellite for the iPhone 14 line, but said the service would initially be available in the United States and Canada, beginning in November 2022. That announcement does not establish availability in Brazil; country, regulatory and service support must be checked separately.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How buyers could check an October 7 preorder
- Open the Brazilian Apple Store website or Apple Store app, where applicable.
- Compare Apple’s direct listing with authorized resellers and selected carriers.
- Choose the model, color and storage capacity.
- Review payment, installment and delivery or pickup details shown for that specific listing.
- Confirm that the page says preorder rather than in-stock shipment or interest registration.
- Check carrier compatibility, SIM or eSIM requirements, warranty and return terms before paying.
- Save the order confirmation and payment authorization.
Apple identified its online store, Apple Store app, Apple Stores, authorized resellers and selected carriers as purchase channels. Stock, delivery estimates, installment conditions and any carrier activation requirement could differ among them; Apple’s launch material does not establish that those terms remained unchanged.
Bottom line on the headline
“October 7” is defensible as the reported date for Brazilian iPhone 14-family preorders, including all four models, but it is not a reliable shorthand for the Brazilian retail launch of the iPhone 14 Plus. Apple’s official Brazilian update placed that model’s store availability on October 28, 2022. Treat the preorder date, shipping date and store date as separate milestones, and label the listed prices as September 2022 launch prices.
