Apple’s U.S. accessory catalog lists Aqara’s Thermostat Hub W200 and Climate Sensor W100. An October 2, 2026 report counted the thermostat plus seven other newly added products—eight additions in all. The W200 stands out for its stated support for Apple Home’s Adaptive Temperature feature, but whether it suits your home depends on Apple-device requirements and HVAC wiring compatibility.

Which eight accessories were added?

The October 2, 2026 report named the W200, W100, and six other products:

  • Nimble Powerstack Charger/Battery System
  • Herschel Cloudform Sleeve for 14-inch MacBook
  • Herschel Cloudform Sleeve for 16-inch MacBook
  • Herschel Cloudform Backpack XL for MacBook
  • CalDigit Thunderbolt 5 (USB-C) Pro Cable (2.0m)
  • Logitech Spotlight 2 Presentation Remote

Apple’s U.S. smart-home accessory catalog lists both Aqara products. A catalog listing does not guarantee stock at every Apple Store or delivery availability in every location.

What makes the Aqara W200 notable?

Aqara describes the W200 as a thermostat with a 4-inch color touchscreen, mmWave presence detection, a Zigbee hub, a Matter controller, and a Thread border router. The company says it connects with Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, and Home Assistant. These are manufacturer-stated features, not independent test results. Aqara Smart Thermostat W200 with Apple Adaptive Temperature
  • Apple Adaptive Temperature - With the Apple Home app, Adaptive Temperature uses your iPhone to adjust the thermostat based on activity states like 'home', 'sleep', 'away' and 'extended away'. This provides comfort upon arrival home and saves energy when away, without the complicated steps of creating or managing schedules. (Note: Adaptive Temperature requires a home hub (Apple TV or HomePod) and an iPhone or Apple Watch, all running version 26 or later.)
  • Apple Clean Energy Guidance: Smarter Energy Savings - With the Apple Home app, Clean Energy Guidance makes small temperature adjustments to use cleaner grid times when electricity may cost less, while maintaining comfort. The forecast is personalized for your home location using environmental and grid data. (Note: Clean Energy Guidance is available only in the contiguous U.S.)
  • Easy Installation with Wide HVAC Compatibility - Designed to fit most homes, W200 works with about 85% of HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, and PTAC units. No C-wire? Simply add the Aqara C-Wire Adapter (sold separately) for stable power. We even include a trim kit to easily cover old wiring and keep your wall looking clean and fresh.
  • Functions as a Smart Display for Your Front Door - W200 works as a visual control panel for your Aqara video doorbell (only compatible with G410/G400, G4 excluded) and smart lock, showing visitor snapshots right on the screen and letting you unlock the door with a simple tap. No need to open an app on your phone or run to the door.
  • Control Your Climate Your Way: App, Voice Assistant, or One-Tap Button Control – You can manually adjust the temperature via the app, or through voice assistants like Alexa or Siri when connected. You can also use the W100 wireless sensor (sold separately) for quick one-tap physical control. Perfect for easy changes from the couch, bed, or anywhere in your home.

Apple Adaptive Temperature has device requirements

Aqara says Adaptive Temperature uses activity states in Apple Home—such as home, sleep, away, and extended away—to adjust the thermostat. It requires an iPhone or Apple Watch running software version 26 or later, and a home hub such as Apple TV or HomePod running software version 26 or later. The feature is not simply a capability of the thermostat by itself.

Clean Energy Guidance is not available everywhere

Aqara says Clean Energy Guidance makes small heating and cooling adjustments based on cleaner-grid timing and is available in the contiguous United States. Its W200 page says rate optimization works in PG&E service areas when the utility account is connected. Those geographic and utility conditions matter when assessing whether the feature applies to your home.

Check HVAC compatibility before buying

Aqara advises checking the existing thermostat wires against the W200’s compatibility information. It lists line-voltage (110/220V), millivolt, and 0-10VDC systems as incompatible. Some systems may need a C-wire adapter, which is sold separately; Aqara’s page showed its W200 adapter for $29.99 when accessed for this article. Aqara says a trim plate is included. Whether an adapter is needed depends on the installation, so do not assume every home requires one.

What the W100 sensor adds

The Climate Sensor W100 is an optional room-control extension, not a requirement for basic W200 operation. Aqara says multiple W100 units can provide room-based control with the W200; for that function, the sensors must be in Zigbee mode through the Aqara Home app. The W200 product page describes the pairing and mode requirements.

Launch and price context

Aqara’s January 6, 2026 CES announcement introduced the W200 alongside Adaptive Temperature and Clean Energy Guidance. The October 2 report says the thermostat launched in April. That report gave an Apple price of $169.95 and said it was $10 above Amazon’s price at the time; Aqara’s U.S. product page showed $159.99 when accessed for this article. These are dated retailer prices, not a lasting price comparison, so check current listings before buying.

How to assess whether it fits your setup

  • Start with your HVAC system and wires: confirm the system type is supported and whether your installation needs a C-wire adapter.
  • Check Apple requirements: if Adaptive Temperature is important, verify that your iPhone or Apple Watch and Apple home hub meet Aqara’s stated software-version requirements.
  • Confirm feature availability: Clean Energy Guidance is limited to the contiguous U.S.; rate optimization has the additional PG&E account condition described by Aqara.
  • Decide whether you need room sensing: W100 sensors are optional and require the specified Aqara Zigbee mode for room-based control.
  • Compare alternatives on like-for-like criteria: Apple’s catalog also lists the ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium. Compare HVAC and wiring compatibility, Apple feature support, platform interoperability, built-in sensing and hub functions, and current price. The available product descriptions do not establish broad superiority for either thermostat.
