The A19 Pro leads in the published head-to-head phone tests available here: Tom’s Guide reported higher Geekbench 6 CPU scores, a higher 3DMark Wild Life Unlimited result, and a shorter Premiere Rush export time for the iPhone 17 Pro than for the Google Pixel 10 Pro. Those are results from two complete phones, not a controlled test of the chips in isolation.
Apple has published A19 Pro’s core configuration; the sources cited here do not establish Tensor G5’s architecture from an official Google specification. That makes the performance comparison more complete than the specification comparison.

Which is faster, A19 Pro or Tensor G5?
In Tom’s Guide’s September 2025 comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro with A19 Pro beat the Pixel 10 Pro with Tensor G5 in the reported CPU, graphics, and video-export tests. The findings point to the iPhone as the faster device in those workloads, but they do not prove that A19 Pro will be faster in every app or use case.

What are the published specifications?
Apple A19 Pro
Apple says A19 Pro has a 6-core CPU, a 6-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. Each GPU core includes a Neural Accelerator. Apple announced that A19 Pro powers both iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max on September 9, 2025. See Apple’s announcement and its iPhone 17 Pro specifications.
Apple also claims up to 40 percent better sustained performance than the prior generation when A19 Pro is paired with the iPhone 17 Pro vapor chamber. This is Apple’s claim about its own previous-generation comparison and thermal system; it is not an independent A19 Pro-versus-Tensor G5 test.

Google Tensor G5
The cited comparison identifies Tensor G5 as the processor in Pixel 10 Pro, but the sources available here do not include an official Google specification page establishing its CPU or GPU core counts, manufacturing process, or other architectural details. Those specifications are therefore not presented as confirmed facts.

In that review’s Geekbench results, the iPhone scored higher in both single-core and multi-core tests. It also recorded about twice the frame rate in the cited 3DMark test, while finishing the specified Premiere Rush export sooner. These are measurements reported by Tom’s Guide; results from another review or software version may differ.

PassMark’s live comparison page reported A19 Pro advantages of around 45 percent in single-thread CPU Mark and around 24 percent in multi-thread CPU Mark, based on a pool of 827 submitted benchmarks at the time represented by the page. PassMark says submissions are updated daily, so these are changing aggregate results, not a fixed controlled comparison. They also use a different benchmark from Geekbench. Graphics and gaming
The higher 3DMark Wild Life Unlimited result gives the iPhone 17 Pro an advantage in that reported graphics benchmark. It does not establish frame rates for every game: game engines, graphics settings, software updates, and sustained thermal behavior can change the outcome.

- You may need the CP2102 driver available from the Silabs website. It is free and easy to install.
- This board features the ESP8266 ESP-12F but has all of its pins broken out. This enables the ESP8266 to be breadboard compatible. It also has an integrated micro-usb port which makes powering and programming the chip far easier compared to having to use a usb-to-serial adapter.
- The NodeMcu firmware can be loaded easily if you want to develop programs in Lua. It is also compatible when other leading micro-controller development platforms.
- This board has a female Micro-USB port on the board for power and program uploading. This port type is very common on many consumer electronics and on smartphones.
- Flashing this device is easy. To flash, just hold the flash button and perform the flash using firmware programming software.
Sustained performance and heat
Apple’s up-to-40-percent sustained-performance statement specifically concerns A19 Pro paired with the iPhone 17 Pro vapor chamber and comparison with the prior generation. The figures cited here do not provide a matching long-duration A19 Pro-versus-Tensor G5 test, so they cannot settle which phone stays faster during extended gaming or other prolonged workloads.
AI hardware is not an AI workload result
Apple’s specification describes Neural Accelerators in the A19 Pro GPU cores and a 16-core Neural Engine. Hardware counts alone do not show which phone completes a particular AI task faster or more efficiently. The cited phone comparison does not report a matched AI workload, and the sources here do not establish Tensor G5’s architecture through an official Google specification.
Are these chip benchmarks or phone benchmarks?
They are phone benchmarks. Tom’s Guide tested the iPhone 17 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro, which combine their respective chips with each phone’s cooling, memory, software, and power management. Geekbench and 3DMark scores can help compare those devices under a named test, but they are not isolated measurements of processor silicon.

For a buyer choosing between these two phones, the results support a clear but bounded conclusion: the iPhone 17 Pro was ahead in the cited CPU, graphics, and export tests. They do not establish a winner for battery life, all-day efficiency, every app, or AI performance.
