AppBlock can make itself harder to remove, but the controls differ by platform: on iOS, “Disable App Uninstalling” is an option within Strict Mode; on Android, a separate “Blocking App Uninstall” setting can work even when Strict Mode is off. These settings add friction, not an unbreakable lock. Check the release method and restrictions before turning them on, because they can make it difficult to change schedules, reach device settings or remove AppBlock.
What AppBlock’s uninstall protection does
Strict Mode can lock selected AppBlock controls behind a release condition, such as a timer, active schedules, a PIN or charger, a cooldown, or approval from a contact. The options and behavior vary between iOS and Android and may also differ by app version.

Uninstall protection is an additional restriction: it is meant to make changing or removing AppBlock harder while enabled. It does not establish that removal is impossible on every device. Before enabling it, choose a release condition you can actually use and review any extra restrictions on device settings or navigation.
How to use Strict Mode on iOS
Set the release condition before enabling it
AppBlock says iOS Strict Mode is used with QuickBlock or Schedules and can lock those controls according to the selected access condition. Its help lists a timer, active schedules, PIN or charger, cooldown, and approval contact as possible methods. Choose and understand the method before activating Strict Mode; if it is unavailable when you need it, changing your block settings or removing the app may be difficult.

Enable uninstall prevention
In Strict Mode, enable the optional “Disable App Uninstalling” setting. AppBlock says this prevents uninstalling apps, including AppBlock, while the setting is enabled. Labels and availability can vary by version.
If you later cannot uninstall AppBlock, its iOS blocking help says Strict Mode must first be deactivated. AppBlock puts it plainly: “To uninstall AppBlock, Strict Mode must be deactivated first.” If your configured release method is unavailable, use the app’s Contact support option and ask for “Emergency Unblocking.”

Choose the right control
Android has a separate “Blocking App Uninstall” setting in AppBlock’s settings documentation. AppBlock says this can prevent its removal even when Strict Mode is disabled. Strict Mode also offers uninstall prevention, for which AppBlock says Device Admin is required. The precise controls depend on your app version and device.

Android Strict Mode can also restrict device settings, recent apps, split screen, and reinstalled apps. AppBlock’s cited help limits “Block recent apps” to Pixel, Samsung, and Xiaomi devices; do not assume that every option is available or behaves the same on other devices.
Permissions and device behavior
Device Admin is relevant to Strict Mode uninstall prevention. AppBlock also uses Android Accessibility for certain advanced features, but that does not mean every user must grant every permission: requirements depend on which features are enabled. Missing permissions and Android background-management limits can affect functionality.
If you cannot uninstall AppBlock or are blocked

If that method is unavailable, open AppBlock’s Contact support option and request “Emergency Unblocking.” AppBlock’s iOS uninstall troubleshooting directs users to support when the normal release route is not available.

If AppBlock has been removed but restrictions appear to remain, AppBlock recommends restarting the device. If the problem persists, its support instructions suggest reinstalling AppBlock, granting Screen Time permission, blocking and then unblocking the affected apps in AppBlock, and trying removal again. This is vendor troubleshooting guidance, not a guarantee that the same steps will resolve every device.

If device settings are accessible, follow AppBlock’s uninstall instructions to disable AppBlock as a device-admin app in system settings, then uninstall it. Also check whether “Blocking App Uninstall” is enabled.

If device settings are blocked or the normal release method is unavailable, use AppBlock’s emergency-support route. Its instructions and menu labels may differ by installed version.
