Look for Discord among supported apps.

Permissions, audio routing, and notification behavior
This is where most “it’s installed but it doesn’t work” reports come from. Android Auto is strict about audio focus and safe interaction patterns.

2) Reconnect Android Auto cleanly

Disconnect the USB cable or turn off wireless pairing.

Force-close Android Auto on your phone (open Recents → swipe it away).

3) Check notification permissions again

Use Android Auto voice actions (hands-free)
Some Android Auto setups can still surface message previews through the phone’s notification system. If you enable Discord notifications, you may get voice-read alerts even without the dedicated Discord UI.
Phone notifications with audio readout
On many Android setups, notification readout can work while connected to Android Auto. This won’t replace full chat navigation, but it’s enough for “new message” awareness.
Wait for rollout completion
