Android and iPhone both let you use an attached physical keyboard for more than typing: you can navigate screens and activate controls with keys. Android 16 and later also offers settings such as Sticky Keys and Mouse Keys, while iPhone’s Full Keyboard Access provides keyboard navigation and shortcuts. The title does not identify a particular flip-phone feature, and the available platform documentation does not establish that these tools descend from a specific flip-phone keyboard feature.
What the feature means on each platform
On Android, Google documents physical-keyboard accessibility settings and, separately, TalkBack keyboard shortcuts. On iPhone, Apple calls its keyboard-navigation feature Full Keyboard Access. Each requires a physical keyboard connected to the phone; ordinary on-screen typing does not require one.

Android: adjust physical-keyboard behavior
Google says these settings are available on Android 16.0 and later. Connect a physical keyboard, then open Settings > Accessibility > Physical keyboard accessibility. If the option is missing, Google advises attaching a keyboard and checking again.

- Bounce Keys: ignores rapid repeated presses of the same key.
- Mouse Keys: uses keyboard keys or a numeric keypad to move and click the pointer.
- Slow Keys: requires a key to be held for a set time before the press registers.
- Sticky Keys: lets you press modifier keys separately instead of holding one while pressing another, which can make multi-key shortcuts easier.
Google also documents an Action + Alt + 5 shortcut for Sticky Keys. Keyboard labels and layouts can differ, so use the settings path if that shortcut does not match your keyboard.
Android: use TalkBack keyboard shortcuts
TalkBack shortcuts are a distinct feature from the physical-keyboard accessibility settings. Connect an external keyboard to use them, then check TalkBack’s keyboard-shortcut settings to see the active keymap and available commands. Google describes a Default keymap and an Enhanced keymap; Enhanced adds commands focused on web navigation and Browse mode. iPhone: turn on Full Keyboard Access
Apple’s iOS 26 guide supports Full Keyboard Access with Magic Keyboard or another physical keyboard. To enable it, open Settings > Accessibility > Keyboards & Typing > Full Keyboard Access and turn it on. Apple’s listed default commands include:

These workflows need a connected physical keyboard, but they do not require a particular model. Before buying or connecting one, check that it works with your phone and connection type, and that its layout suits the commands you plan to use. A keyboard is optional: you can continue typing with the phone’s on-screen keyboard.
