“What computer do I need to run this AI model?” is the question this project is designed to help answer. Its intended outcomes include recommending hardware, suggesting that you rent computing instead of buying it, or telling you that you already have enough. The project describes a rules-based advisor—not a retail catalog—and its documented checks are useful safeguards, not a guarantee that every recommendation is correct.
What the AI hardware advisor is designed to do
The project’s README describes an agent that uses structured criteria and reference hardware to assess what computer may be appropriate for a chosen AI model. It says the system reads a Sanity dataset containing laws, rules, solution paths, run reports, and hardware references; code then recomputes calculations from laws stored in Sanity. The README puts the distinction plainly: “It reads a Sanity dataset of criteria (laws, rules, solution paths, run reports, reference hardware), not a product catalog, and code recomputes its math from the laws stored in Sanity.” Project README

That framing matters: the aim is to evaluate a workload against criteria, rather than show a shopper a list of retail products. The README describes possible answers that include “don’t buy, rent” and “you already have enough,” so buying a new machine is not the only intended path.

According to the README, an answer validator recomputes calculations using law.formula, checks for required fields and dated prices, and can send an answer back for as many as two correction rounds. The project also describes checks that compare law variables and rule paths with schema fields, plus property tests for whether laws change in the expected direction.
#1 Best Overall
- Dual power ways: Solar power or 1 AA battery (Battery Included) , energy saving and convenient.
- Adopt Japanese LCD screen, 12 digits, display data clearly.
- Support +/-(negative),%,√ calculation; Rounding off & decimal place setting; CE/C (part/all clear), MC/MR/M+/M- (memory) key.
- Auto shut-down in 8min if no further operation.
- Big ABS plastic button, offer accurate positioning and comfortable texture, support >1 million times press.
These are documented implementation features, not independent proof that the underlying data is complete or that every answer is accurate. A calculation can follow a rule correctly and still produce a poor recommendation if the rule, input, hardware reference, or price is unsuitable or out of date.
What the reported evaluation scores mean
The project reports blind-grader results for nine scenarios, each run three times. The README material reviewed does not state the evaluation year, and the scores have not been independently confirmed here.

- 8-digit LCD provides sharp, brightly lit output for effortless viewing
- 6 functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentage, square root, and more
- User-friendly buttons that are comfortable, durable, and well marked for easy use by all ages, including kids
- Designed to sit flat on a desk, countertop, or table for convenient access
| Project version or setup | Reported score |
|---|---|
| v2, project blind grader | 47/78 |
| v3, project blind grader | 53/78 |
| v3.1 through Sanity Context MCP, project blind grader | 59/78 |
These figures are the project’s own reported results, not an independent benchmark of current hardware recommendations. They show the scores the project reports across those versions; they do not establish how the advisor performs on other models, scenarios, or changing hardware and prices.

The README identifies a public Sanity v2 dataset, a separate Knowledge Base in Context MCP mode, and a replay page for recorded runs. It lists schema types including AI models, GPUs, CPUs, systems, laws, rules, solution paths, offers, cloud offers, use cases, software, failure cases, and sources. Those descriptions indicate the kinds of information the project is structured to handle; they do not verify the contents of every dataset record.

- Fraction features, conversions, and basic scientific and trigonometric functions
- Solar and battery powered
- Approved for use on SAT, ACT and AP exams
The documentation available at the repository page does not establish which current GPU or computer to buy for a particular model. It also does not, by itself, confirm current model support, specific model-to-hardware pairings, live prices, or compatibility. A concrete recommendation needs current model-specific data and a separately supported compatibility check.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. When this kind of advisor can help
For someone deciding whether to run a particular model locally, the project’s intended approach offers a structured way to consider more than a GPU name: the workload, hardware references, rules, and the possibility of renting or reusing existing equipment. But readers should treat any result as a recommendation to investigate, not as a verified buying instruction. Check that the model, workload, configuration, and price information behind a recommendation match your needs before spending money.
