For a camera problem, identify the webcam and computer model, then get the matching camera driver from the webcam maker or PC manufacturer—not from AMD’s graphics or chipset downloads.
Why an AMD driver is unlikely to fix a webcam
AMD’s Windows 10 driver FAQ covers Radeon graphics products and their graphics drivers; it does not describe a webcam-specific driver. AMD’s Auto-Detect utility checks for compatible Radeon graphics and Ryzen chipset hardware and obtains supporting AMD drivers. Those are separate device categories from a camera, even when the PC uses an AMD processor or graphics card.

AMD’s Auto-Detect support article was last updated June 2, 2025, and lists Windows 10 64-bit version 1809 and later for compatible AMD products. It requires an internet connection, so it is not an offline webcam installer. Check AMD’s current pages for compatibility with a particular AMD product.

Identify the camera before downloading a driver
The title does not name a camera, PC model, Windows 10 build, or camera symptom, so it is not enough to choose a compatible package. Find the computer’s make and exact model. In Windows, open Device Manager and look for the camera under Cameras or Imaging devices. Open its properties and, if available, check Details > Hardware Ids. These details can help match the correct device and driver.
For an integrated camera, start with the computer manufacturer’s support page for that exact model and Windows 10. For an external webcam, check the webcam manufacturer’s support page. The right package can depend on the model; do not assume that a driver listed for another AMD component will apply to the camera.

How to get an offline camera installer safely
- While online, identify the exact camera and PC model. Record the camera name or hardware ID in Device Manager and the computer’s complete model designation.
- Open the official support page. Select the exact PC model for an integrated camera, or the webcam model for an external camera. Choose Windows 10 and confirm that the listed package matches the device.
- Check whether the manufacturer provides a downloadable installer. Save the official package to the PC or transfer it using removable storage. An offline installer is available only if the device maker provides a compatible package; the information here does not establish one for an unidentified camera.
- Run the package and follow its instructions. Restart if the installer requests it, then check Device Manager and test the camera in the app that was having trouble.
A device-specific package may not be available for every camera or Windows 10 configuration. If the manufacturer offers no matching download, check Windows Update or the manufacturer’s support guidance rather than substituting a graphics driver or an unverified download.
When AMD’s tools are relevant
If the problem is actually with Radeon graphics or a supported Ryzen chipset—not the webcam—AMD provides a Product Selector and Auto-Detect route for finding drivers for AMD hardware. AMD’s Product Selector guidance is for selecting an AMD product and locating its available drivers; it does not turn those packages into camera drivers. Auto-Detect requires internet access.

Downloads to avoid
- Do not install a Radeon graphics or Ryzen chipset package as a webcam fix simply because the computer contains AMD hardware.
- Avoid unofficial driver-download sites and generic driver-updater tools; they may offer packages that do not match the camera.
- Do not disable security software to run a driver installer. Use a package from the camera or computer manufacturer and follow its instructions.
