Amazon Prime Settlement: What to Do If You Didn’t Get a Notice

A missing notice does not automatically disqualify you from the FTC’s Amazon Prime settlement. Check the revised eligibility rules and contact the settlement administrator about your individual payment.

If you mean the Federal Trade Commission’s Amazon Prime settlement, not receiving a notice does not automatically disqualify you. Under the revised process, eligible U.S. customers do not need to submit a claim or respond to a notice to receive a payment. This guidance applies to that Prime settlement only; other Amazon settlements may have different rules.

Check whether you meet the current eligibility rules

The FTC says you may qualify only if all three conditions apply:

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

  • You were an Amazon Prime customer in the United States.
  • Between June 23, 2019, and June 23, 2025, you either signed up through a challenged Prime enrollment flow or tried to cancel using the online cancellation flow but could not complete it.
  • You used no more than 20 Prime benefits in any 12-month period after enrolling. Prime Music and Prime Video products offered free to subscribers count as benefits.

The FTC names the challenged enrollment flows as the universal Prime decision page, shipping selection page, single-page checkout, and Prime Video enrollment flow. See the FTC’s current Amazon Refunds page for its eligibility details.

What to do if you haven’t gotten a notice or claims form

  1. Compare your situation with the current criteria above. Do not rely on older articles that describe the original claim process or a 10-benefit limit. The revised order uses a 20-benefit ceiling and provides for automatic payments.
  2. Ask the settlement administrator about your individual case. The FTC directs consumers with payment questions to the administrator. Email [email protected], visit SubscriptionMembershipSettlement.com, or call 1-888-999-8094. The FTC’s public eligibility guidance is not an individualized lookup; eligibility can depend on Amazon’s business records.
  3. Check any payment instructions promptly. If a payment was issued, it expires 60 days after its issue date. Contact the administrator if you believe a payment is missing, expired, or incorrect.

The FTC’s consumer advice also addresses the related situation, “I should have gotten a payment, but I didn’t. How do I get one?”: FTC consumer advice about a missing Amazon Prime settlement notice.

How much could a payment be, and when?

The FTC says total payments may be up to $200 per eligible customer. Earlier payments were capped at $51; the revised order permits up to $149 in additional payments. The amount is not guaranteed to be $200 for every eligible person. The FTC says refunds should reach eligible customers by April 2027, by mailed check or electronically through PayPal or Venmo. Payments expire 60 days after issue. Details and any updates are on the FTC refund page.

In its September 2026 announcement, the FTC said additional automatic payments began October 1, 2026, for consumers who used 11–20 Prime benefits in a 12-month period and had not already received a settlement payment. The announcement also describes a possible additional round for some people who previously accepted a payment, depending on whether a specified fund threshold is met. It does not promise that every eligible customer will receive the maximum. Read the FTC’s September 2026 payment announcement for those details.

Ignore anyone asking you to pay to get a refund

The FTC says it is not contacting consumers about these refunds. It will not demand payment, threaten you, tell you to transfer money, or promise a prize; Amazon will not ask you for money to issue a refund. Do not pay a fee or share personal information with someone who contacts you claiming they can secure special access or guarantee a payment. Use the administrator contact details listed on the FTC’s official refund page.
