You cannot file a new claim for the Amazon Prime settlement. The claim-form deadline was July 27, 2026. Under the process now described by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), eligible consumers do not need to submit another form: qualifying payments are being sent automatically. This status is current as of October 4, 2026.
Who may qualify for an automatic payment?
The FTC says a consumer must meet all three conditions below to qualify under the settlement. Meeting them suggests possible eligibility; it does not guarantee an individual payment. Amazon’s records determine whether a particular consumer qualifies.

- You were an Amazon Prime customer in the United States.
- You signed up through a challenged enrollment flow, or tried and failed to cancel Prime online, between June 23, 2019 and June 23, 2025.
- You used no more than 20 Prime benefits in any 12-month period after enrolling.
The FTC identifies the challenged flows as the universal Prime decision page, shipping selection page, single-page checkout, and Prime Video enrollment flow. Prime Music and Prime Video products offered free to subscribers count as Prime benefits, according to the FTC’s current Amazon refund guidance.
How do I get my payment?
No new application is needed for the current or planned automatic payment phases. The FTC says Amazon sends payments by mailed check or electronically through PayPal or Venmo. Follow the instructions promptly if you receive one: a payment expires 60 days after its issue date.

For a question about your eligibility, a missing payment, or payment details, contact the settlement administrator at [email protected], visit SubscriptionMembershipSettlement.com, or call 1-888-999-8094. The FTC directs consumers to the administrator for individual payment issues; it cannot confirm a specific person’s Amazon records.
How much is the payment, and when should it arrive?
The maximum total payment is $200 per eligible consumer, not a guaranteed award. The FTC describes the redress as a refund of Prime subscription fees; the actual amount depends on eligibility and the settlement’s distribution process. The revised order raised the earlier $51 cap and allows possible additional payments of up to $149.

The FTC says eligible consumers will receive refunds by April 2027. A further automatic payment phase is conditional: if the required amount has not been accepted by February 2027, the revised order provides for an additional phase starting by April 2027 for consumers who previously accepted a payment. The order’s timing and conditions apply to that additional phase; it does not mean every consumer will receive a payment by that date.
How the settlement payment phases fit together
Older explanations can describe a claim form because the process changed. The September 2026 revised order expanded automatic payments and replaced the need for new claims with additional automatic distribution.

| Phase | Who it covered or covers | Claim or payment detail |
|---|---|---|
| Earlier automatic payments | Consumers eligible for the initial automatic refund phase. | The earlier aggregate cap was $51. The FTC reported in September 2026 that more than $845 million in redress had been issued. |
| Claim-form phase | Consumers covered by the earlier process who were directed to submit a claim. | The deadline was July 27, 2026; that window is closed. |
| Expanded automatic phase, beginning October 1, 2026 | Eligible consumers who used between 11 and 20 Prime benefits and have not already received a payment, as specified in the revised order. | Payments are automatic for consumers in Amazon’s business records who meet the order’s criteria. The total maximum across phases is $200 per eligible consumer. |
| Conditional additional phase, beginning by April 2027 | Consumers who previously accepted a payment, if the required amount has not been accepted by February 2027. | The revised order describes this as another automatic payment phase; it is conditional, not a guaranteed payment to every recipient. |
The FTC reported a $2.5 billion settlement in September 2025: a $1 billion civil penalty and $1.5 billion in consumer redress. At that time, it estimated 35 million consumers were impacted. Those settlement-wide figures do not establish an individual consumer’s eligibility or payment amount.
What if I received a claim email, or expected a payment but did not get one?
An email mentioning the old claim process does not reopen the expired deadline. Current FTC guidance says eligible consumers do not need to file a claim, respond to a notice, or complete additional forms for future payments. If you believe you should have been paid, ask the settlement administrator to check your individual payment status rather than submitting information through an unsolicited link.

How to avoid refund scams
The FTC says it is not contacting people about refunds in the Amazon matter. Neither the FTC nor Amazon will ask you to pay money to obtain a refund, and a promise of guaranteed access is a warning sign.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems- Do not pay a fee to claim, unlock, or speed up a refund.
- Avoid unexpected links or requests for sensitive information. Use the FTC’s official Amazon refund guidance to reach the settlement administrator.
- If a message pressures you to act or claims you are guaranteed a payment, treat it as suspicious and verify independently with the administrator.
The FTC’s January 2026 consumer alert addressed common questions from the earlier claim-form period. Its historical claim instructions do not override the newer process: the deadline has passed and current eligible payments are automatic.
